Abstract: A versatile upper body garment formed of a stretchable fabric is configured to provide a variety of modes of wear with respect to head covering. A coat, jacket, shirt or vest has an integral hood which covers the wearer's head. Within the hood is an integral face shield which may be swung behind the wearer's head or neck when not covering the face, enabling protection of various portions of the face. The hood may be tightened to expose a variable extent of the head or face. The hood and face shield may be configured to be rolled into a hollow collar for storage when not needed.

Abstract: An improved mitt for cold weather use is configured to provide a variety of modes of wear. The mitt is convertible between a fully closed position for covering the hand and fingers and open positions for exposure of the thumb and/or finger(s) or the entire hand. An internal pocket within the mitt permits continuous or intermittent warming of all or some of the fingers when the mitt is in either a generally open position or closed position. Insertion and removal of fingers and thumb relative the internal pocket is easily accomplished without use of the other hand. A thumb hole and/or finger hole for thumb/finger exposure is formed with an overlapping two-layer seal of stretchable material to prevent heat loss while ensuring easy thumb/finger insertion and removal. In one embodiment, stretchable fillets connect the terminal ends of the palm side and back side of the mitt to provide a snug fit about the wrist.

Abstract: Counterfeit financial card fraud is detected based on the premise that the fraudulent activity will reflect itself in clustered groups of suspicious transactions. A system for detecting financial card fraud uses a computer database comprising financial card transaction data reported from a plurality of financial institutions. The transactions are scored by assigning weights to individual transactions to identify suspicious transactions. The geographic region where the transactions took place as well as the time of the transactions are recorded. An event building process then identifies cards involved in suspicious transactions in a same geographic region during a common time period to determine clustered groups of suspicious activity suggesting an organized counterfeit card operation which would otherwise be impossible for the individual financial institutions to detect.

Abstract: A computer based system that alerts financial institutions (FIs) to undetected multiple debit card fraud conditions in their debit card bases by scanning and analyzing cardholder debit fraud information entered by financial institution (FI) participants. The result of this analysis is the possible identification of cardholders who have been defrauded but have not yet realized it, so they are "at risk" of additional fraudulent transactions. The system also identifies "at risk" cards in the criminal's possession which have not yet been used. The system's early identification of these "at risk" cardholders helps limit losses to individual FIs and the FI community at large. It also provides the coordinated information necessary to the speedy apprehension of the perpetrators.

Abstract: A closure for the upper opening on a bin-type livestock feeder which is operable by the delivery elevator on a supply truck. The closure is slidable relative to the bin and is biased to a closed position by springs engaged between the bin and the closure.
