  • Publication number: 20070200079
Abstract: A valve having a valve packing removal device attached thereto is disclosed. The valve may include a valve plug reciprocally disposed within the valve housing and connected to a sliding stem. The packing may be provided about the valve stem to ensure or minimize leakage of regulated fluid from the valve. A sleeve may have a diameter less than a bore in which the packing is disposed and may be connected to the valve stem such that when the valve stem is sufficiently pulled from the valve, the sleeve engages the packing and pulls the packing from the valve.

  • Publication number: 20070018132
Abstract: A multi-pitch threaded coupling for joining threaded components is disclosed. An example coupling includes a body portion having an aperture therethrough. A first end of the aperture has first threads with a first thread pitch and a second end of the aperture opposite the first end has second threads with a second thread pitch different from the first thread pitch.

  • Publication number: 20060266972
Abstract: A pivot assembly provides an economical means for reducing the load on a manually operated hand jack by providing a pivot point on the body of a connecting rod which allows for an additional degree of movement. The pivot assembly may include a thrust bearing to further reduce friction on the connection rod.

  • Publication number: 20050269543
Abstract: A valve assembly has a valve body and a fluid passage through the valve body with an inlet end and an outlet end. A valve seat is defined within the fluid passage. A sleeve is axially slidable within the fluid passage and has an upstream end, a downstream end, and an axial flow passage in communication with the inlet end and the outlet end of the fluid passage. A valve stem is pivotally mounted at a stem pivot spaced radially from the fluid passage. The valve stem is actuable to slide the sleeve between an open position with the downstream end spaced from the valve seat and a closed position with the downstream end borne against the valve seat to selectively control fluid flow through the flow passage to the outlet end. One end of the valve stem is coupled to the sleeve at a joint. The stem pivot accommodates relative axial movement of the valve stem as the sleeve slides within the fluid passage.

  • Publication number: 20050191122
Abstract: A locking mechanism for securing a female member defining a threaded aperture to a male member having a threaded insertion end sized to threadably engage the female member threaded aperture has a body extending along an axis. The body defines an outer side surface sized for insertion into the female member threaded aperture and first and second axial ends. A wedge projects from the first axial end of the body and has an inner engagement surface adapted to engage the insertion end of the male member and an outer engagement surface adapted to engage the threaded aperture of the female member. The wedge is sufficiently pliant to deflect radially outward in response to an insertion force applied to the male member.
