  • Publication number: 20090037836
Abstract: A computer system for a system interaction matrix creation tool is provided. The computer system has a platform, at least one input device, and a central processing unit in communication with the platform and the at least one input device. The central processing unit is configured to display a system interaction matrix having a first dimension indexed to a plurality of affecting subsystems, and a second dimension indexed to a plurality of affected subsystems, receive a selection of one of the plurality affecting subsystems and a selection of one of the plurality of affected subsystems, and receive a selection of one of a plurality of types of interactions existing between the selected one of the plurality of affecting subsystems and the selected one of the plurality of affected subsystems. The central processing unit is further configured to receive a description of the selected interaction.

  • Publication number: 20080087357
Abstract: A process for preparing the surface of aluminum products to receive colored coatings comprises a substantially pollution free, non-chromate pretreatment and aluminum conversion coating process. The process provides improved coating quality, increased process stability, increased throughput and extended operating life of the processing baths by controlling the electrical resistance of the deionized water used for washing the aluminum product being processed to at least about 50 k ohms and controlling the manner of washing between each step of the process.

  • Publication number: 20060279951
Abstract: A lighting fixture assembly includes a housing assembly that forms an interior. A valve mechanism is associated with the housing assembly and is configured to automatically vent fluid from the interior to the atmosphere when the pressure in the interior exceeds a threshold level. Otherwise, the valve mechanism seals the interior from the atmosphere. The lighting fixture also includes a pressure-equalization mechanism, separate from the valve mechanism, which is also associated with the housing assembly. The pressure-equalization mechanism is configured to, upon activation, substantially equalize the interior pressure with the atmosphere pressure and to otherwise seal the interior from the atmosphere.

  • Publication number: 20060198129
Abstract: An in-grade light fixture comprises a light fixture housing arranged to be buried substantially below grade level. The light fixture housing has a light opening substantially at grade level and an optical chamber having a light source arranged within the optical chamber and the optical chamber arranged within the housing with light from the light source passing through the light opening. The fixture further comprises a plurality of housing openings and one or more enclosures, each of which is removably mounted to a respective one of the housing openings. The enclosures accept external power and generate power to energize the light source causing it to emit light. The optical chamber can also comprise an anti-condensation valve and an air passageway between the optical chamber and one of the enclosures form a vacuum in the optical chamber and vacuum during operation.

  • Publication number: 20050286245
Abstract: A hydrological barrier plate for in-grade light fixture housings and a housing for use with light fixtures to prevent water entry into the water sensitive compartments of the light fixture. The barrier plate has a plate body with an opening in which is sealably disposed an anti-syphon wire pass-through valve for electrically connecting the components on one side of the barrier plate with the wires in the junction box on the opposite side of the barrier plate. The barrier plate is sealed around its outer edge against the housing wall. The pass-through valve is configured to prevent water from wicking along the wires and to prevent water from passing around the valve. The barrier plate is installed without tools and an effective seal is easily obtained. Using the barrier plate, water is prevented from migrating between the junction box and the primary housing compartments of the housing.
