  • Patent number: 4903914
Abstract: In an accumulator in a warping process, a plurality of tension sensors are mounted on a common support member such that adjustment of the support member simultaneously adjusts the release tension of all the tension sensors.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 16, 1989
Date of Patent: February 27, 1990
    Assignee: Douglas K. Seaborn
Inventors: Douglas K. Seaborn, Louis B. Williams, Jr.
  • Patent number: 4610059
Abstract: In a warping process, the yarns are overfed into an accumulator comprising an individual tension detector for each yarn. The overfeed reduces the tension and thus the frictional drag as the yarns pass in a partial wrap around their tension detectors, permitting higher warping speeds.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 4, 1984
Date of Patent: September 9, 1986
    Assignee: Monsanto Company
Inventors: Douglas K. Seaborn, William T. Dowell
  • Patent number: 4407767
Abstract: A weftless warp of yarns being drawn and wound on a beam is fed through a tension detector, located prior to the drawing step and responsive to tension in any of the yarns equalling a predetermined non-zero level, for stopping the process. This prevents damage to or breakage of a yarn which might have become snagged in the warp source.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 20, 1982
Date of Patent: October 4, 1983
    Assignee: Monsanto Company
    Inventor: Douglas K. Seaborn
