Abstract: A novel method for training a user of a construction modeling system includes presenting a model file to the user, receiving a request for assistance from the user, processing the request to identify training materials corresponding to the request, presenting indicia of the identified training materials to the user, receiving selection input from the user, and facilitating the modification of the model file by the user based on the presented training material. The request includes information related to a particular portion of a model file of the construction modeling system and information identifying a particular craft. The selection input indicates the selection of at least one of the training materials as a selected training material. In a particular embodiment, the method is carried out in a building information modeling (BIM) application. In another particular embodiment, the method is carried out in BIM application Add-in.
