  • Patent number: 9766249
Abstract: The present invention is based on the discovery that functional stratification and/or signaling profiles can be used for diagnosing disease status, determining drug resistance or sensitivity of cancer cells, monitoring a disease or responsiveness to a therapeutic agent, and/or predicting a therapeutic outcome for a subject. Provided herein are assays for diagnosis and/or prognosis of diseases in patients. Also provided are compositions and methods that evaluate the resistance or sensitivity of diseases to targeted therapeutic agents prior to initiation of the therapeutic regimen and to monitor the therapeutic effects of the therapeutic regimen. Also provided are methods for determining the difference between a basal level or state of a molecule in a sample and the level or state of the molecule after stimulation of a portion of the live sample with a modulator ex vivo, wherein the difference is expressed as a value which is indicative of the presence, absence or risk of having a disease.

  • Publication number: 20080293069
Abstract: A molecular assay for determining the sensitivity or resistance of malignancies to chemotherapy prior to initiation of chemotherapy and which also allows for monitoring the therapeutic effects of the chemotherapy during treatment. The molecular assay measures tumor response to therapy with EGFR modulators and utilizes tumor mRNA as a starting material and a quantitative measurement of c-fos expression as an analytical endpoint.

  • Patent number: 5432783
Abstract: A system and method for operating a Broadband ISDN to support a viable virtual private network (VPN) service are attained by establishing a plurality of virtual path links connecting customer locations and broadband switching systems, by cross-connecting virtual channel links at the broadband switching systems to establish end-to-end virtual channel connections, and by policing both the input and output traffic only on the virtual path links. The egress policing function is attained through the use of the ingress policing processors by looping back one customer's traffic from an outgoing trunk into an input port on the broadband switching system.
