  • Publication number: 20210363775
Abstract: A method, system and support element for supporting a pole, mast or similar elongated element to a foundation. The pole, mast or similar elongated element comprises a wall which is substantially continuous. A plurality of discontinuities, such as eg. channels or recesses, are provided about the periphery of the pole. A plurality of the support members are positioned on the pole and adapted to extend between the pole and the foundation thereby transmitting force from the pole to the foundation. Each support member is adapted to extend between at least two of the discontinuities and engage the discontinuities over a predetermined axial length of the pole.

  • Publication number: 20210164612
Abstract: The invention provides a brake assembly for a module. The module is mountable to a pole having a track. The brake assembly is connectable to the module and has two brake members configured to fit at least partly adjacent each other on the track. The brake assembly also has a biasing member for urging the brake members apart such that at least one brake member engages the track to resist falling of the module. A pole is also provided, having an elongate shaft with the track, the module and the brake assembly of the invention. A flexible rope is connectable to the brake assembly for moving the brake assembly along the track.

  • Publication number: 20200400175
Abstract: A system for fixings and/or preventing relative movement between two elongated members particularly for a pole. The system comprises couplings provided by pairs of tapered bodies. The elongate mast portion is of a smaller cross-section than the base portion and can at least partially fit within the base portion. The respective tapered body providing engagement surfaces which upon entry of the mast into the base increase the area of mutual contact and increase the lateral force applied between the mast and the base thereby preventing or at least reducing relative movement therebetween.

  • Patent number: 9045903
Abstract: A sealing arrangement for a pole assembly having a tubular base, a tubular upper mast of smaller diameter, and a cladding. An end of the upper mast is inserted within an end of the base and a portion of the base overlaps the upper mast and is fastened thereto, with the cladding surrounding the base. The sealing arrangement comprises a transition ring and a seal assembly. The transition ring surrounds a portion of the base, upper mast and cladding. The transition ring having an internal downwardly facing surface, and the seal assembly is disposed within said transition ring to seal between the external surface of the upper mast and the transition ring. The seal assembly comprising a sealing plate and a seal disposed between the downwardly facing surface and the sealing plate, and the sealing action of the seal assembly is actuated by the sealing plate squeezing said seal.

  • Publication number: 20100205875
Abstract: A pole assembly comprising a column, a support assembly having a plurality of upstanding support members, and a plurality of elongate base members of constant cross section, wherein in use each base member is fastened to said column and to a respective one of said upstanding support members and extends adjacent the column near its base end such that the longitudinal axis of each base member is substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of said column.

  • Publication number: 20090101000
Abstract: A bolt head locking arrangement for a recoil operated weapon where projectile is expelled by discharging a cartridge. The weapon comprising an action body, a barrel, and a bolt assembly, the bolt assembly being slidable within the action body. The bolt assembly comprising a bolt head, a locking slide and a firing pin, and a locking means arranged so that, upon loading a new cartridge for discharging, the locking means positively lock the bolt head such that, for a predetermined amount of time after the loaded cartridge is discharged, the locked bolt head stops the cartridge from retreating into the action body. The locking means is substantially in an in-line configuration with the bolt assembly.

  • Patent number: 6843153
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to a security screw (1) having threaded shank portion (2) and head portion (3). The head-portion (3) is characterized by having a circular profile with a cylindrical peripheral wall (4) and a smooth crown (5) without any tool engagement slots, recesses or other profile in contrast to a convention screw. The security screw (1) is driven into place by way of a driving tool (9) having shank portion (10) adapted to be rotated by a suitable implement such as a power drive. The driving tool (9) further comprises a cup portion (13) incorporating a cylindrical recess (14) coaxial with the shank (10). The recess (14) is sized and shaped to fit over the head portion (3) of the screw (1).
