  • Publication number: 20210306749
Abstract: An audio system, device, and method for broadcasting, discovering, and receiving wireless audio data connections. The exemplary systems and methods described herein utilize an Isochronous Broadcast Stream topology to unilaterally broadcast a plurality of wireless audio data streams. The audio devices described are configured to discover and receive the plurality of wireless audio data streams and allow the user to organize these streams into a determined order and cycle through each stream based on user input.

  • Patent number: 11102655
Abstract: Methods and systems for secure device action initiation using a remote device are described herein. The techniques described herein enable, among other actions, users to send a play chirp request to a lost or misplaced device, such as to one or both buds of a truly wireless earbud set. In the case of truly wireless earbuds, a shared secret known by both of the buds can be used to securely initiate the action over an unencrypted link (e.g., an unencrypted BLE link). This can be achieved by using the shared secret to sign an authentication challenge to prove that a remote device that also has access to the shared secret is authorized to initiate the action, thereby providing a secure process. In some implementations, the shared secret is an Identity Resolving Key (IRK), which may be randomly generated by the buds.

  • Patent number: 10944555
Abstract: A system and method for securely verifying a connection between a remote device and an audio device. The method includes establishing a wireless connection between the remote device and the audio device. The remote device has an application configured to control operation of the audio device. An identity resolving key (IRK) for the application is obtained with the remote device. The IRK is transmitted to the audio device via the wireless connection. An instruction to is transmitted the audio device to generate a random resolvable address for the application using the IRK and to broadcast data containing the random resolvable address. The data containing the random resolvable address is received by the application of the remote device. An active audio connection between the remote device and the audio device is identified if the random resolvable address is able to be resolved by the application using the IRK.

  • Patent number: 10705793
Abstract: A method is provided for exchanging data between a user device and an audio output device over a wireless link. A user device detects that a trigger event for initializing a low latency mode has occurred at the user device, the low latency mode configured to cause the audio output device to reduce a size of a render buffer to be used for rendering audio data. In response to the detecting, the user device transmits an indication to the audio output device to initialize the low latency mode, the indication causing the audio output device to reduce the size of the render buffer to be used for rendering the audio data. The user device then transmits the audio data to the audio output device over the wireless link.

  • Patent number: 10637651
Abstract: A system and method for securely resolving an identity of an audio device. The method includes establishing a wireless connection between an audio device and a remote device. An identity resolving key (IRK) is received in an encrypted state from the audio device via the wireless connection. A data connection between the remote device and a server is established. The IRK is transmitted in the encrypted state to the server via the data connection. transmitting user credentials to the server via the data connection. The IRK is received in a decrypted state from the server via the data connection. An advertising packet broadcast from the audio device is received by the remote device. The advertising packet includes a random resolvable address for the audio device. • Patent number: 10299300
Abstract: A system and method for tethering wireless audio devices. The method includes establishing a first wireless connection between an intermediary device and a primary audio device. A random resolvable address is received by the intermediary device from a secondary audio device. The random resolvable address is transmitted to the primary audio device via the first wireless connection. An instruction is transmitted to the primary audio device to analyze broadcasted data from nearby audio devices for a matching audio device having broadcasted data corresponding to the random resolvable address, and to initiate a second wireless connection with the matching audio device. Audio data is transmitted to the primary audio device via the first wireless connection for streaming the audio data from the primary audio device to the secondary audio device, identified to the primary audio device as the matching audio device, via the second wireless connection.

  • Patent number: 9747071
Abstract: When an indication is received from a user input, a name of an audio source from an ordered list of audio sources to which a headset is currently connected is output. Whenever a successive indication is received within a predefined amount of time, the name of the next wireless audio source in the list is output. If the next wireless audio source in the list is the last wireless audio source in the list, and the successive indication from the user input is received before the elapsed time exceeds the predefined value, the name of the audio source to which the headset is currently connected is output as the next selected wireless audio source in the list. When an amount of time greater than the predefined value elapses without a successive indication from the user input, the last wireless audio source that had its name output is connected.
