  • Patent number: 4375583
Abstract: There is provided an arrangement for the indirect impulsing of a number dialed on a telephone. The arrangement includes an impulsing mechanism which provides impulses at preset intervals to actuate a circuit completion switch. A shutter is movably mounted with respect to the impulsing mechanism to control the completion of the circuit, and is adapted to be moved upon the dialing of a number. The dial mechanism is detained at its dialed position and is prevented from returning to its normal undialed position. The circuit actuated by the circuit completion switch releases the dial to complete the standard dialing operation for each number dialed.

  • Patent number: 4071116
Abstract: A load-cancelling system for conveyance systems, such as elevators, is especially adapted for cancelling the effect of the load weight on power requirements and includes at least one weighing device adapted to determine the weight of the load in the elevator. The system also includes a brake adapted to dissipate energy from the conveyance system and interface means between the weighing device and the brake for translating the result of the weighing operation to a corresponding braking operation.

  • Patent number: 4031435
Abstract: A switching device for the indirect activation and/or termination of systems operatively coupled to the switching device which includes an inductor adapted to be periodically pulse energized, an armature movably mounted with respect to said inductor so as to assume a first and a second position relative to the inductor thereby causing a distinct variation of current flow in the inductor when energized by a periodically applied pulse, a manipulative armature positioning means and an associated electrical circuit responsive to current flowing in said inductor. The members are arranged such that the circuit is adapted to selectively indirectly actuate an external system only when said armature assumes one of said positions and a periodic energizing pulse has reached the inductor.

  • Patent number: 3980980
Abstract: A switching device for the indirect activation and/or termination of systems operatively coupled to the switching device includes a manipulating member, an impulsing means, a circuit completion means adapted to be activated by said impulsing means, and a displaceable shielding means. The members are arranged such that upon manipulation of the manipulating member, the shielding means is displaced whereby the circuit completion means causes activation of the external system to which the device is wired.
