  • Patent number: 5805958
Abstract: A seal bearing assembly for seal a rotating member in a development system is disclosed. The seal bearing assembly includes a seal assembly; a cutter, in contacted with the seal assembly, for cutting a portion of the seal assembly to seal the seal assembly about the member; and a bearing assembly, enclosed by the seal assembly, rotatingly supporting the member.

  • Patent number: 5755358
Abstract: A system for dispensing toner particles from a toner hopper to a development system, a sensing system for detecting low toner condition within the toner hopper, the sensing system including a flexible wall assembly mounted within the hopper and in fluid communication with the toner particles within the toner hopper, the flexible wall assembly being adapted to transmit an interior pressure generated by the toner within the toner hopper being indicative of an amount of toner present therein; and a sensor assembly mounted exterior to the toner hopper and in communication with the flexible wall assembly, for sensing the interior pressure. There is provided circuitry responsive to the sensor for generating a feed back signal indicative of a low toner condition within the toner hopper.

  • Patent number: 5657983
Abstract: A lateral sheet registering device for registering sheets transported along a predetermined path including a lateral registration edge positioned along the path. An active lateral registration apparatus urges sheetlike material into contact with a registration edge guide member as the material is advanced in a process direction of travel. A wear resistant contact surface is provided along an inboard side of the registration edge guide by mounting a plurality of dowel pins fabricated from a particularly wear resistant material along the registration edge guide. The dowel pins are mounted so as to be rotatable and/or replaceable without the requirement of replacing the registration edge guide or removing the sheet handling system.

  • Patent number: 5383502
Abstract: An imaging material replenishment system for a reproduction apparatus, with an imaging material container removably insertable into an insertion guide, which container has a containment lid automatically removed upon insertion, with a lid latching member with a latching notch normally latching the containment lid to the container. The insertion guide has a latch engaging member such as a fixed pin positioned to engage an unlatching ramp surface of the lid latching member as the container is inserted, a locking slot returning the pin therein during dispensing, and thus holding the lid there, and another, oppositely inclined, ramp surface automatically relatching the lid to the container as the container is removed after dispensing. An integrated contents encoding and interlock system is also provided.
