Publication number: 20240052514Abstract: A method of acid mist suppression in copper electrowinning is described. In various embodiments, at least one liquid licorice root extract, powdered licorice root extract, or reconstituted licorice extract is added in an amount sufficient to the acidic electrolyte solution of the copper electrowinning process to suppress acid mist from the acidic electrolyte solution during the copper electrowinning process. In various embodiments, combinations of licorice extract and surfactant show synergies in acid mist suppression during copper electrowinning.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 23, 2023Publication date: February 15, 2024Applicant: FREEPORT MINERALS CORPORATIONInventors: Scot Philip Sandoval, Stanberg Lee Tallman, William Duane Sanders, Ephrem Lemlem Gebrehiwot, Aron Tyab

Patent number: 8997323Abstract: A hand manipulatable tool for removing and replacing sprinkler heads threadably connected to an underground watering system employs a straight metal pipe component having outwardly flared portions at both extremities adapted to grip the sprinkler heads. A straight handle rod interactive with the pipe component facilitates unscrewing and lifting of the gripped sprinkler head.Type: GrantFiled: May 1, 2012Date of Patent: April 7, 2015Inventors: James R. Sanders, C. Duane Sanders

Patent number: 8739337Abstract: A system of belt and buckle components enable a handicapped person to achieve self-transfer between a bed and contiguous wheelchair. One extremity of the belt is secured to the wheelchair, and the other extremity of the belt is anchored to a panel inserted beneath the bed at a site transversely opposite the wheelchair.Type: GrantFiled: July 25, 2012Date of Patent: June 3, 2014Inventors: James R. Sanders, C. Duane Sanders

Patent number: 4412659Abstract: A mill is described for progressively shredding material such as garbage, tires, aluminum cans, waste paper, etc. into loose particulate material. The mill includes a hopper that is movably mounted to a shredding wheel frame. The hopper includes an open bottom end into which the shredding wheel projects. The hopper is driven to reciprocate along a straight path over the wheel to bring the contained material into wheel contact. Provision is made to vary the depth of cut taken by the wheel in response to loading conditions of the associated drive motor by automatically adjusting a feed grate mechanism relative to the wheel.Type: GrantFiled: January 30, 1981Date of Patent: November 1, 1983Assignee: Thermoguard Insulation Co.Inventors: Roger Crawford, Duane Sanders

Patent number: 4154589Abstract: A bag type air cleaning apparatus is described for collecting particulate sediment from a source of pressurized air. The apparatus is adapted for connection to the pressurized air source and receives the pressurized air within a cylindrical plenum. A plurality of upright pervious bags are openly associated with the plenum for receiving the pressurized air. The air and particulate sediment is forced upwardly into the bags and against the bag interior surfaces where the sediment will collect as the air escapes through the pervious material. The bags are mounted on upright frames that are collapsible for storage purposes. A sliding duct is provided in communication with a blower mechanism in order to successively clean the inside surfaces of the bags. The sliding duct includes a manifold that comes into contact with successive openings of the bags while being pivoted about within the plenum.Type: GrantFiled: December 27, 1977Date of Patent: May 15, 1979Assignee: Thermoguard Insulation Co.Inventors: G. Roger Crawford, Duane Sanders

Patent number: 4070853Abstract: A machine is described for closing and sealing the upward ends of filled plastic bags. It includes a locating mechanism that positions bags successively at a closing and sealing station. The normally flexible top of each partially filled bag is formed into an upwardly open rectangular configuration by a forming mechanism. A folding mechanism operates to fold transverse short sides of the configuration inwardly. A heat element and associated pad are located on opposite longitudinal sides of the bag. They are pressed together against the folded longitudinal sides to heat the material and allow the sides to fuse together and seal the bag.Type: GrantFiled: January 10, 1977Date of Patent: January 31, 1978Assignee: Thermoguard Insulation CompanyInventor: Duane Sanders

Patent number: 4055203Abstract: A machine for packing compressible low density loose fill cellulose insulation material into flexible bags. A machine includes a hopper for receiving bulk quantities of loose fill insulation material. A metered feed mechanism is sequentially operable to discharge measured amounts of the loose insulation material from the hopper to an upright charging tube. Below the tube is mounted a container receiving mechanism and a container enclosure mechanism. Empty flexible insulation receiving bags are mounted to the receiving mechanism and located in position directly below the charging tube. The enclosure mechanism is operated to close about the periphery of the empty container while a compactor mechanism operates to compress the preselected amount of insulation into the waiting container. Once the container is packed, the enclosure mechanism opens to allow the filled container to be removed and an empty container mounted in its place.Type: GrantFiled: December 12, 1975Date of Patent: October 25, 1977Assignee: Thermoguard Insulation Co.Inventors: G. Roger Crawford, Duane Sanders, David B. Shill
