  • Patent number: 5256016
Abstract: An anchoring assembly for use in a hole bored inwardly from the surface of a receiving material. The anchoring assembly includes, in general, an anchoring component or swedge anchor having a plurality of fingers, a spreading component or spreader having a tapered portion which points toward the anchoring fingers, a bolt or threaded shaft onto which the spreader and swedge anchor are positioned, and structure for interlocking the anchor and spreader together during the procedure for setting the assembly into a receiving material.

  • Patent number: 4712071
Abstract: A valve analysis and testing system includes various devices for measuring the operating characteristics of a valve and its operator and the corresponding imposed valve stem load, which devices are attached to the valve operator. These devices include a switch position indicating circuit for purposes of detecting the open and close positions of limit and torque switches within the valve operator; which circuit includes a coil wrapped with two independent current conducting wire elements, each wire element in series with a different switch; and one wire element being wrapped about the coil core more times than the other wire, wherein a coil output induced by current flowing through one wire element will be of different magnitude than the coil output induced by current flowing through the other wire element; and, preferably, wherein current flowing through both wire elements at the same time will have an additive effect on the coil output.

  • Patent number: 4693113
Abstract: A Valve Analysis and Testing System includes various devices for measuring the operating characteristics of a valve and its operator and the corresponding imposed valve stem load, which devices are attached to the valve operator. These devices provide for statically calibrating the operator relative to the imposed valve load and provide recording traces of the imposed load and associated parameters during dynamic conditions as related to the operation of the operator and valve combined. The System provides initial dynamic traces after initial assembly, maintenance and/or periodic testing of the operator and valve. The System is then used to provide diagnostic dynamic traces at any specified time in the future for the operator and valve. These further traces are used to compare with earlier traces to verify correct performance and most importantly to detect induced or impending damage, malfunctions, or maintenance requirements for the operator and valve.

  • Patent number: 4214760
Abstract: An arrangement for temporarily sealing the space between two substantially parallel, adjacent plates in which a flexible, partially inflatable seal is located between the plates to effect primary and secondary sealing interfaces along the upper and lower edges of the plates, respectively. The seal has a wedged-shaped upper portion, a tubular lower portion and a substantially solid intermediate shank. The tubular end of the seal is inflated so that it expands into contact with the lower edges of the plates, drawing the wedge-shaped upper portion of the seal toward the tubular portion, thereby forming primary sealing interfaces between the wedged-shaped portion and the upper edges of the plates. The contact of the inflated tubular portion with the lower edges of the plates forms secondary seal interfaces. The effectiveness of the seal can be tested by measuring the pressure in the chambers formed between each set of primary and secondary sealing interfaces.
