  • Publication number: 20240179814
Abstract: An illumination device, system, and method are provided herein for emulating sunlight along a daytime or nighttime locus. Color temperature is determined using a first color temperature curve that includes data representative of a first color temperature as a function of a time of day. In response to a request to a change in brightness of one or more LED chains, a target color temperature output as a function of the current time of day is determined using a second color temperature curve based on the requested change in brightness. The second color temperature curve includes the target color temperature corresponding to the determined current time of day. The target color temperature output includes a lesser change in color temperature at solar noon than the change in color temperature at sunrise and sunset.

  • Patent number: 11991579
Abstract: A system, method and computer-readable medium for concurrent support of Voice Call Continuity (VCC) capabilities in both the enterprise space and the carrier space are provided. The enterprise VCC functionality is used when the user is located in the enterprise domain which does not impact the carrier's network while the carrier VCC capability is used when the user is located in the carrier domain to support seamless handover between the wireless networks that the carrier may offer. The carrier VCC anchoring point and the enterprise VCC anchoring point may communicate with each other to confirm and inform the other anchoring point that a call handover is occurring or will occur.

  • Publication number: 20240122151
Abstract: Compositions and methods for reducing the level of nornicotine and N?-nitrosonornicotine (NNN) in tobacco plants and plant parts thereof are provided. The compositions comprise isolated polynucleotides and polypeptides for a root-specific nicotine demethylases, CYP82E10, and variants thereof, that are involved in the metabolic conversion of nicotine to nornicotine in these plants. Compositions of the invention also include tobacco plants, or plant parts thereof, comprising a mutation in a gene encoding a CYP82E10 nicotine demethylase, wherein the mutation results in reduced expression or function of the CYP82E10 nicotine demethylase. Seed of these tobacco plants, or progeny thereof, and tobacco products prepared from the tobacco plants of the invention, or from plant parts or progeny thereof, are also provided. Methods for reducing the level of nornicotine, or reducing the rate of conversion of nicotine to nornicotine, in a tobacco plant, or plant part thereof are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20240120827
Abstract: An illumination device and method are provided for controlling light-emitting diodes (LEDs). The LEDs (specifically, the LED loads) are controlled, e.g., brightness and color of the LED loads, independent of a phase-cut dimmer applied to the AC mains feeding a DC power supply. The power supply is active dependent upon the duration of a conduction angle supplied from the dimmer The power supply, however, produces drive currents that are independent from the conduction angle by using a two-stage power supply and a relatively slow and fast control loops that are controlled through a microprocessor-based control circuit. Parameters stored in the control circuit are drawn by the microprocessor to control the two-stage power supply to produce the drive currents independent and decoupled from the conduction angle yet dependent on the controller parameters.

  • Publication number: 20240098856
Abstract: A lighting device, such as a light-emitting diode (LED) light source, may operate in an interim operable state to avoid and/or prevent undesirable characteristics in the light emitted by the lighting device (e.g., strobing and/or flickering of a brightness of the light and/or shifting or change of a color of the light). When operating in a normal state, the control circuit may determine if a measured value of a first operational characteristic (e.g., a forward voltage of an emitter of the lighting device) is outside of a range and operate in the interim operable state if the measured value of the first operational characteristic is outside of the range. When operating in the interim operable state, the control circuit may adjust a drive current for the emitter in response to a measured value of a second operational characteristic (e.g., a forward voltage of a detector of the lighting device).

  • Publication number: 20240093259
Abstract: The invention provides gene targets whose restoration leads to genome stabilization in host cells, such as Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cells. Many DNA repair genes are mutated in CHO cells which compromises their ability to repair naturally occurring DNA damage, in particular double-strand breaks (DSBs). Unrepaired DSBs can give rise to chromosomal instability which, in turn, can lead to loss of transgenes from the genome. As a consequence, protein titer can drop significantly, rendering protein production unprofitable. The invention provides a set of mutated DNA repair genes whose restoration yields significant improvement in DSB repair, genome stability, and protein titer.

  • Patent number: 11837214
Abstract: Various embodiments of the present disclosure evaluate transcription accuracy. In some implementations, the system normalizes a first transcription of an audio file and a baseline transcription of the audio file. The baseline transcription can be used as an accurate transcription of the audio file. The system can further determine an error rate of the first transcription by aligning each portion of the first transcription with the portion of the baseline transcription, and assigning a label to each portion based on a comparison of the portion of the first transcription with the portion of the baseline transcription.

  • Patent number: 11818819
Abstract: A lighting device, such as a controllable light-emitting diode (LED) light source, may execute a self-calibration procedure to compensate for changes in an optical system of the lighting device that may have occurred after an initial factory calibration procedure. The lighting device may include an emitter, a detector that generates a detector signal in response to detected light, a memory that stores a curve defining an optical compensation value with respect to a measured forward voltage of the detector, and a control circuit configured to receive a measured value of a luminous flux of the light emitted by the emitter that may be determined in response to the detector signal and based on the optical compensation value. The control circuit may adjust the curve defining the optical compensation value in response to a difference between the measured value and an expected value of the luminous flux.
