  • Patent number: 4775071
Abstract: This relates to an improved aerosol container of the type wherein the dome is formed separately from the body and is secured to the body by a conventional double seam. The aerosol container is improved by squeezing the double seam radially inwardly so that it is, in effect, necked in and may also be tilted to correspond generally to the dome profile. In the ultimate condition the upper part of the body is also tilted radially inwardly and the chuck wall upper portion contacts the dome above the annular countersink completely to close the countersink.

  • Patent number: 4676392
Abstract: A paint can having a body with a curl at its upper open end and a plug having a downwardly open groove defined by an upright wall formed to fit within the open end of the body, a radial bight which in the closed position of the plug overlaps the curl and compress a sealing band thereagainst, and an outer flange with an inwardly offset lower portion which snaps under the curl, the lower edge of the flange having an inturned curl which is sprung into an annular groove in the body wall, the portion of the wall defining the said annular groove forming an annular internal rib on the body which enters a complimentary groove in the plug side wall. A handle is provided connected to a band encircling the body and abuts the lower edge of the outer flange of the plug in the closed position, the band sliding upwardly with the handle and extending into the body curl when the plug is removed.

  • Patent number: 4185758
Abstract: A compartmentalized aerosol container wherein there is incorporated a bag for separating the propellant from the product. In addition, the inner surface of the upper end unit is provided with a covering. The bag and the covering are formed of suitable plastics materials which are heat bondable together and during or after the completion of the seaming operation securing the end unit to the container body, the customarily formed double seam is heated to effect bonding of the end unit covering to the bag.
