  • Publication number: 20170315992
Abstract: A system that incorporates teachings of the subject disclosure may include, for example, generating a graphical representation of a three-dimensional surface of an object, wherein the three-dimensional surface includes a number of inscriptions indicative of encoded information. A number of alternative corresponding symbols are determined according to a selection of a region of the graphical representation. The alternative corresponding cuneiform symbols are determined from a number of the markings. A number of alternative transliterations are determined by the system. The alternative transliterations are determined from of a symbol of the multiple alternative corresponding symbols. A number of alternative translations are also determined by the system of a transliteration of the multiple translations transliterations. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9710462
Abstract: A system that incorporates teachings of the subject disclosure may include, for example, receiving a graphical representation of an object surface having a number of inscriptions indicative of information encoded upon the object surface. The graphical representation of the object surface is transcribed by the system to determine markings from the inscriptions. A number of alternative corresponding symbols are determined by the system.

  • Patent number: 5515078
Abstract: A system for receiving positional information and displaying a virtual world based on the positional information. The system includes a base and a chair that may be rotated with respect to the base by the user of the system. A monitor is attached to the chair so that it moves with the chair. A measuring device determines the rotational position of the chair. Joysticks are provided, and the bases of the joysticks are attached to the chair or the monitor so that they move with the chair. Data from the joysticks and from the rotational-position measuring device are sent to a processor, which accesses a data base defining a virtual world and generates an image on the monitor. The monitor image represents apparent movement within and through the virtual world represented by the databases.
