Patent number: 5941689Abstract: A control system for a variable pump and a process to control the variable pump with a circuit connected to a hydraulic motor by working lines, controlled by an electronic controller, having check valves in the circuit to allow oil flow from a charge pump going into the circuit and further consisting of high pressure relief valves to allow oil flow out of the working lines to limit maximum pressure. A temperature sensor is placed between the high pressure relief valves and the connected check valves. A signal is processed in an electronic control to control the displacement of a variable pump, depending on temperature measure of the fluid flowing across the high pressure relief valves.Type: GrantFiled: May 29, 1997Date of Patent: August 24, 1999Assignee: Sauer Inc.Inventor: Eckhard Skirde

Patent number: 5881629Abstract: A control device for variable hydraulic machines, and specifically for variable axial piston machines equipped with a servo system that is connected to a swash plate so that the discharge/displacement volume is infinitely variable. The hydraulic machine is equipped with a sensor that detects the piston displacement and is connected with an electronical control unit that controls the swash angle position of the swash plate and is pressure controlling the servo system by an electrohydraulic converter. A method for the infinite controlling of the volume flow of hydraulic machines, by which the servo system is connected to the swash plate of the hydraulic machine, and by which a conduction of a signal from a sensor to the control unit, a pressure controlling of the servo system by an electrohydraulic converter as well as the controlling of the swash angle position of the swash plate by the electronical control unit is realized.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 1997Date of Patent: March 16, 1999Assignee: Sauer Inc.Inventors: Wilhelm Gollner, Eckhard Skirde

Patent number: 5501578Abstract: A hydrostatic pump of the axial piston type having a significantly reduced overall length due to a special three point bearing arrangement for the main shaft (1) of the pump and the charge pump shaft (12). The improvement comprises a bearing assembly which consists of just three bearings (6, 14, 23) at separate locations for simultaneously supporting the coupled main shaft (1) and charge pump shaft (12). A first bearing 6 is located at the end of the main shaft (1) which is opposite that coupled to the charge pump shaft (12), a second bearing (14) is located at the end of the charge pump shaft (12) which is opposite to that coupled to the main shaft (1), and a third bearing (23) is located at the junction of the coupled shafts (1,12) to provide for their common support. The third bearing (23) can be a needle bearing or of the plain bushing type. The shafts (1,12) can be coupled by mating splines (17,22) and engage each other in a clearance fit (21).Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 1995Date of Patent: March 26, 1996Assignee: Sauer Inc.Inventor: Eckhard Skirde
