  • Patent number: 4860015
Abstract: A null command generator test apparatus capable of operating in either the open or closed loop configuration for testing the Sarcalm system. When operating in an open loop configuration the null command generator test apparatus utilizes the normalized voltage output of the null command generator as the estimator for the beam pointing error. When operating in the closed loop configuration, the test apparatus utilizes either the voltage output of the null command generator or the angle difference between the line of sight to the target and the null direction of the antenna servo simulator to estimate the dynamic pointing errors.

  • Patent number: 4204210
Abstract: A missile guidance system in which a synthetic array radar antenna control system correlates the phase and doppler frequency information contained in signals received by a four quadrant antenna from an illuminated section of terrain, so as to compute the velocity components of the antenna. The velocity components are utilized, in conjunction with the earth rate supplied from a terrestrial navigation system, to maintain the azimuth null plane of the antenna in alignment with a selected target designated by means of a synthetic array map of the illuminated terrain. A missile command system controls the flight path of missile along the azimuth null plane to the target.

  • Patent number: 4149168
Abstract: A carrier signal of a first frequency is mixed with a tone signal of a second frequency to produce an upper sideband signal at a frequency equal to the sum of the first and second frequencies and to produce a lower sideband signal at a frequency equal to the difference of the upper and lower frequencies. The upper and lower sideband signals are provided separately and sequentially to produce a sequentially balanced modulation tone ranging signal for transmission. The received sequentially balanced modulation tone ranging signal is processed to produce a measurement signal containing the phase information of the received signal at a measurement frequency. A local signal is provided at the measurement frequency. The phase of the measurement signal is subtracted from the phase of the local signal to produce a phase shift information signal for sequentially indicating the phase shift in the upper and lower sidebands of the received signal.

  • Patent number: 4085440
Abstract: A navigational system for automatically positioning a platform relative to the earth's geopotential surface. A system is provided which includes an accurate self-contained attitude reference to the true vertical. The system includes an inertial platform which is rotatable relative to a level platform, each of the platforms being connected to a two axis gimbal. One of the platforms is also connected to a three axis gimbal which may be connected to the vehicle which it is desired to stabilize. Means are provided for sensing rotation of one platform relative to the other. An inertial platform position control computer is provided for generating first corrected signals to the three axis gimbal for automatically referencing the inertial platform to a datum reference spheroid. Additional computer means are provided for generating second corrected signals to the two axis gimbal to align the level platform with the true vertical to the geopotential surface of the earth.
