Abstract: An acoustic monitoring device has at least two acoustic sensors with a triggering mechanism and a multiplexing circuit. After the occurrence of a triggering event at a sensor, the multiplexing circuit allows a recording component to record acoustic emissions at adjacent sensors. The acoustic monitoring device is attached to a solid medium to detect the occurrence of damage.

Abstract: A high voltage winding assembly is disclosed which provides a substantially rectangular high voltage pulse output in response to a magnetically coupled pulse input thereby resulting in improved regulation of the output voltage. A plurality of narrow width and relatively high windings, referred to as washer-shaped windings, is mounted over a primary winding. The height and width of each winding is selected to produce a predetermined capacitance of the winding. The washer-shaped windings are a-c electrically separated from each other by means of diodes connected in series between the windings. The use of the diodes and the selection of the proper height to width ratio positions the a-c null of each winding somewhere within the winding. The washer-shaped windings are separated or spaced from each other by means of a dielectric, the spacing controlling the leakage inductance of the high voltage winding without substantially affecting the capacitance.
