  • Publication number: 20210129799
Abstract: A vehicle defrosting assembly includes a blower that is positioned in a cab of a vehicle. The blower circulates air within the cab when the blower is turned on. Additionally, the blower is in fluid communication with a defrost duct of the vehicle's air conditioning system. A heater is integrated into the blower to heat the cab of the vehicle thereby inhibiting the formation of frost on the vehicle's windows. A heater battery is coupled to the vehicle and the heater battery is independent from an ignition battery of the vehicle. Each of the blower and the heater is in electrical communication with the heater battery. A solar panel is coupled to an exterior of the vehicle for charging the heater battery when the vehicle is not running.

  • Publication number: 20200118783
Abstract: An electron gun for an electron microscope or similar device includes a field emitter cathode having a field emitter protrusion extending from the output surface of a monocrystalline silicon substrate, and electrodes configured to enhance the emission of electrons from a tip portion of the field emitter protrusion to generate a primary electron beam. A thin, contiguous SiC layer is disposed directly on at least the tip portion of the field emitter protrusion using a process that minimizes oxidation and defects in the SiC layer. Optional gate layers may be placed at, slightly lower than or slightly higher than the height of the field emitter tip portion to achieve high emission current and fast and accurate control of the primary emission beam. The field emitter can be p-type doped and configured to operate in a reverse bias mode, or the field emitter can be n-type doped.

  • Patent number: 6755768
Abstract: A device for inducing a cycling motion in patients who have little or no motor control of their legs. The device has bicycle-type pedals connected via a belt or chain drive to a motor with a speed control allowing a very low rate of rotation from 0.1 cycles per second up to about 1.0 cycles per second. The device includes straps for wheelchair wheels for locking a wheelchair in position such that the patient's feet may be strapped onto the pedals. The diameter of rotation of the pedals is adjustable to accommodate different leg lengths and to allow various diameters of rotation of the pedals. The motor is housed within a console with medial and lateral supports so that the legs of the patient are maintained in alignment.

  • Patent number: 5950635
Abstract: A method of treating various anxiety-related disorders, such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, panic attacks, or general anxiety disorder is disclosed. It has been found that the P1 midlatency auditory evoked potential of such patients undergoes increased amplitude and decreased habituation. Stimulation of three specific acupuncture points LR3, HT3, and PC6) on three different acupuncture meridians has been found to reduce the amplitude of the P1 potential using 20-minute periods of stimulation. Low frequency stimulation (around 5 Hz) was found to be most effective. Repeated periods of stimulation were also found to increase the effect of the treatment.
