  • Publication number: 20120077725
Abstract: Fabric care compositions for providing improved stain repellency are described. The fabric care composition includes a mixture including a hydrophobic fluid, a particulate material and an amphoteric or cationic oligomeric/polymeric deposition aid. Methods for providing improved stain repellency for a textile by treating the textile with the fabric care composition are also described.

  • Publication number: 20030191043
Abstract: Methods and formulations for enhancing the dissolution of a solid material in an aqueous solution incorporate an effervescent system into the material. Effervescent systems include (i) the combination of one or more enzymes and one or more substrates for said enzymes and (ii) a metal ion catalyst and a substrate for that metal ion catalyst. The combination of either (i) the enzyme and the substrate or (i) metal ion catalyst and substrate is capable of producing a gas when the material is in an aqueous solution. The effervescent system is particularly suited for incorporation into laundry detergents, dishwashing detergents, antacids, vitamins, contact lens cleaners, denture cleaners and other household products. It is believed that the gas produced by the interaction of the enzyme or metal ion catalyst and the appropriate substrate enhances and facilitates dissolution of the material by increasing the surface area of the material that is in contact with the aqueous medium.

  • Patent number: 6458754
Abstract: Modified starch encapsulated High Impact Accord (HIA) perfume particles are disclosed. The particles consist of a modified starch and perfume oil encapsulated by the starch and comprised of at least two HIA perfume ingredients which have a boiling point at 760 mm Hg, of 275° C. of lower, a calculated ClogP of 2.0 or higher, and an odor detection threshold less than or equal to 50 parts per billion (ppb). The encapsulated perfume particles are particularly useful in laundry compositions.

  • Patent number: 6165967
Abstract: Laundry granular detergent compositions useful for hand wash and machine-assisted hand wash laundry operations. The composition contains 5% to 40% of a surfactant, the surfactant containing: 1) 60% to 95% primary anionic surfactant selected from alkylbenzene sulfonate, alkyl sulfate, and mixtures thereof; and 2) 2.5% to 18% alkyl ethoxy ether sulfate (AES) surfactant having an average of from about 1 to about 9 moles ethoxy per mole surfactant, the ratio of alkylbenzene sulfate and alkyl sulfate surfactant to alkyl ethoxy ether sulfate surfactant being within the range of from about 30:1 to about 4:1. The composition also preferably contains 2.0% to 5.5% hydroxyalkyl quaternary ammonium cationic surfactant, the ratio of alkylbenzene sulfonate and alkyl sulfate surfactant to such cationic surfactant being from 40:1 to 16:1.
