  • Publication number: 20030231480
Abstract: The limit values for the field strengths of emitted electromagnetic interference fields from electronic appliances and modules (BG1, BG2) are defined in guidelines, for example for communications devices in the regulation NEBS Level 3. Together with the limit values, the operating conditions are also always defined, in which the limit values must not be exceeded. For example, there is a requirement for the limit values to be complied with even during servicing, in which both the rack door and the door of the module shelf or module frame (T) are open. The appropriate limit values are regularly not complied with by existing systems when the door of the module shelf or module frame (T) is open, if, for example, the modules (BG1, BG2) of the existing systems are equipped with plastic shutters (2).

  • Patent number: 6635820
Abstract: The mounting rack has upper and lower outer walls which are each formed from two perforated shielding panels which are parallel to one another and at a distance from one another. As a result, the shielding attenuation of the mounting rack is considerably increased. In order to reduce the flow resistance, an intermediate space between the two shielding panels is filled with a congruently perforated insulator.

  • Patent number: 6349164
Abstract: A shielding apparatus is connected in contacting fashion to a shielding ply of a backplane printed circuit board of a module chassis, is provided with contact openings at which the shielding apparatus can be contacted with metallic guide sleeves onto which plug connectors for light waveguides coming from the outside can be plugged. Specifically, contact openings are provided with star-shaped slots between which resiliently deflectable, radially resilient contact tongues are formed which engage an outside surface of the guide sleeves.

  • Patent number: 5479321
Abstract: A shielded mounting rack has a shielding plate (11) on its rear, which shielding plate (11) covers the back-panel wiring and is provided with apertures (12) for shielded plug connectors (1) which can be plugged on at the rear. The latter are in each case provided with a shielding casing (3) which has feathered contact tongues (4) which make contact with circumferential ground contact pins (10) on a back-panel wiring board (8). The ground contact pins (10) project into the apertures (12) in the shielding plate (11) and are pressed, by the contact tongues (4), against its inner wall. As a consequence, a fine-meshed ground connection is produced between the plug connector (1), the shielding plate (11) and the back-panel wiring (8).

  • Patent number: 5316501
Abstract: A multipole plug connector (1) having connecting elements (10) on the rear side for incoming leads is completely surrounded by a shielding plate (3), with the exception of its insertion side. The shielding plate (3) is composed of material which is in the form of a strip and is bent around the plug connector, and whose ends overlap such that they make contact. In consequence, a particularly good shielding effect is achieved.

  • Patent number: 5083239
Abstract: Shielding apparatus for an electrical assembly. A shroud that covers a front cover of the assembly is located at the front side of the electrical assembly that is insertable into a magazine. The shroud is snapped onto the front cover with retaining tabs and has laterally resilient contact tabs that are contacted by contact tabs of neighboring shrouds. As a result, the shrouds are directly connected to one another, so that only one electrical junction between the shielding parts is established per assembly. In particular, the shielding effect is so effective that the shrouds can be utilized in radio-frequency electrical systems.

  • Patent number: 5016058
Abstract: In a fixing station operating according to the principle of cold fixing in an electrophotographic printer means, a control of the influencing time of the solvent vapor on the recording medium ensues in addition to the control of the vapor concentration. To this end, the recording medium is immersed to different depths into a container containing a solvent vapor, being immersed thereinto via a deflection roller dependent on the operating conditions.

  • Patent number: 4983126
Abstract: Spring contacts are arranged in the insertion direction between immediate-neighboring printed circuit boards of various assemblies, the contact locations in the spring contacts being at the distance of a parting line of the assemblies. The spring contacts are directly electrically connected to the printed circuit boards, more specifically to circuit interconnects thereof. As a result of this structure, a direct electrical connection between the printed circuit boards can be produced while avoiding plug-type connectors for the assemblies. The assemblies can nonetheless be individually inserted unimpeded in an arbitrary sequence.

  • Patent number: 4593480
Abstract: A paper web recording medium provided with toner images as conducted through a fixing housing containing solvent vapor over a paper deflection drum for fixing the toner images on the recording medium. The paper deflection drum is formed by a rigid roller body made of expanded or foamed plastic over which an elastic grid network fabric of toner-repellent material is drawn as an exterior surface sleeve. A low-mass paper deflection roller having low thermal conductivity is thus provided, so that no solvent vapor can condense at the surface of the fixing drum. The low-mass structure of the paper deflection drum also prevents a smear print when starting or stopping conduct of the paper web through the fixing housing.

  • Patent number: 4439144
Abstract: A solvent vapor toner image fixing device for use with electrostatic printing or copying devices having a well-shaped container through which a paper web is guided in a loop shaped manner is provided with improved apparatus for sealing the operational opening of the container against the emergence of solvent vapor. The sealing means comprises a wedge-shaped sealing strip disposed beneath the upper reversing drum which conducts the paper web out of the container. The sealing strip defines an air flow gap with the drum which permits an introduction of air flow into the upper end of the container from which it exits through a narrow gap formed between an upper edge container wall and the upper surface of the paper guide member, thus forming a pressure zone at the upper end of the container which resists passage of solvent vapor out of the container. The assembly further includes a discharge housing through which the paper web immediately passes upon leaving the container.

  • Patent number: 4424701
Abstract: An ultrasonic measuring sensor for the fixing station of a non-mechanical printing or copying device has an electroacoustical transducer for both transmitting and receiving ultrasonic oscillation, and a reflector spaced a distance from the transducer for reflecting the oscillation transmitted by the transducer back to the transducer. The measuring path between the transducer and the reflector is surrounded by a fine mesh net having a mesh size which is significantly smaller than the wavelength of the ultrasonic oscillation. The mesh of the net is selected so as to permit the vapor concentration inside of the net to follow the changes in the average concentration at the fixing station with sufficient rapidity while shielding the measuring path against brief and topically limited concentration fluctuations.

  • Patent number: 4424703
Abstract: A device for monitoring the concentration of an air-vapor mixture in the fixing station of a non-mechanical printing or copying device has an ultrasonic transducer for generating and receiving an ultrasonic signal in the fixing station, the transit time of the ultrasonic signal between transmission and reception indicating the air-vapor mixture concentration in the station. The transit times are subdivided into at least three ranges of which the mean range or mean ranges identify a desired concentration. An evaluator circuit post-connected to the ultrasonic transducer forms signals corresponding to the ranges, the signals being entered in one of at least three status memories in accordance with their significance. The status memory which is filled first emits an output signal for triggering a corresponding reaction such as increasing the vapor density in the station, and cancels the contents of all of the status memories.
