  • Patent number: 10060377
Abstract: A method for determining an imbalance of at least one cylinder in an arrangement of at least two cylinders in a system is provided, which includes an internal combustion engine, the imbalance of the at least one cylinder being present in relation to at least one property of an exhaust gas of the internal combustion engine and the determination of the imbalance of the at least one cylinder occurring with a sensor device for detecting at least one property of the exhaust gas of the internal combustion engine. A diagnostic threshold is ascertained through a dynamic characterization of the system with the sensor device, the dynamic characterization taking place after an excitation of the system. The diagnostic threshold makes it possible to delimit a range of potential erroneous detections which are caused due to a dispersion of an evaluating signal resulting from the imbalance of the at least one cylinder.

  • Publication number: 20110036144
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for monitoring and controlling the regeneration of a particle filter in an exhaust gas duct of an internal combustion engine, wherein said regeneration of the particle filter takes place by means of an oxidative burning off of particles during a regeneration phase. Provision is made according to the invention for the internal combustion engine to be operated at a lean operating point at least intermittently during lean operating phases or during a mixture oscillation and for the regeneration of the particle filter to be monitored during the lean operating phases or during the mixture oscillation via the temporal course of a second signal of a second lambda probe disposed in the exhaust gas direction downstream of said particle filter or of a second parameter derived therefrom in comparison to the temporal course of a first signal of a first lambda probe disposed in the exhaust gas direction upstream of said particle filter or of a first parameter derived therefrom.

  • Publication number: 20060207033
Abstract: The invention relates to polyorganosiloxanes having a concentration of nitrogen of >0.8% by weight (wt-%), based on the total weight of the polyorganosiloxane, to compositions comprising such polyorganosiloxanes and to the treatment of fiber materials with such compositions.

  • Patent number: 5553593
Abstract: A control system is described for metering the fuel in an internal combustion engine. On the basis of the operating state of the internal combustion engine and a mixture correction signal for correcting the deviation of the air/fuel ratio from a desired value, a basic injection quantity signal is generated. A transition compensation signal is also generated while taking into account an adaptive correction factor. The adaptive correction factor is generated by comparing the mixture correction signal with a reference. The transition compensation signal is logically combined with the basic injection quantity signal to form a signal indicative of the quantity of fuel to be injected. In a second exemplary embodiment, the adaptive correction factor is determined by comparing the output signal of an exhaust gas sensor with a reference.

  • Patent number: 5200442
Abstract: A process is described for the preparation of a crosslinkable paint binder by working up a solution of a fluorine-containing copolymer composed of copolymerized units of a perfluoroolefin, a vinyl ester of a short-chain, saponifiable carboxylic acid and a vinyl ester of a strongly branched carboxylic acid which resists saponification. In this process, the bulk of the solvent and the residual monomers are first removed by distillation, the residual highly viscous copolymer is then dissolved in a mixture of alkanol and another solvent which is also capable of dissolving the saponified copolymer to form a homogeneous solution, and the alkaline saponification is subsequently carried out. If desired, the solvent is removed and exchanged for a paint solvent and this solution is finally filtered. A mild saponification is achieved in this manner.

  • Patent number: 4774304
Abstract: A process for the continuous agglomeration of granular tetrafluoroethylene polymer powders which cannot be processed from the melt to give molding powders having a high bulk density, an improved powder flow and particle stability and a narrow particle size distribution is described. In this process, the powder to be agglomerated is first introduced uniformly into a pretreatment stage and is dispersed and pre-agglomerated in this stage in the liquid agglomeration medium, composed of water and an organic liquid capable of wetting polytetrafluoroethylene, is then agglomerated to the desired average particle diameter in an agglomeration stage and is finally treated further in an after-treatment stage in order to develop the final shape of the particles. Finally, the powder is separated from the liquid medium and is dried.

  • Patent number: 4369266
Abstract: Aqueous colloidal dispersions of fluorinated polymers can be concentrated, after adding a stabilizing emulsifier, to high solids contents by ultrafiltration over customary semi-permeable membranes if pumps which keep the dispersion free from contact with components which cause frictional forces are used for conveying the dispersion. A considerable proportion of the stabilizing emulsifier added and high proportions of the fluorine-containing emulsifier originally contained in the fluorinated polymer dispersion from the emulsion polymerization can be removed via the aqueous permeate. The fluorine-containing emulsifier can be recovered by a downwstream basic anion exchanger and the stabilizing emulsifier contained in the filtrate flowing out of the anion exchanger can be concentrated in this filtrate by reverse osmosis and optionally recycled into the ultrafiltration process.
