  • Publication number: 20060286299
Abstract: A method for treating by injecting a fluid treatment material into porous structures such as those formed from concrete, brick, stone, marble, and wood. The apparatus for use in the method includes an applicator head having an inner chamber and an outer chamber surrounding the inner chamber both of which chambers are connected with a vacuum source. The inner chamber is also connected with a source of pressurized liquid treatment material. The method is for treating such porous structures and includes the steps of engaging the structures with the applicator head, drawing a vacuum on at least the outer chamber to secure the applicator head to the structure, and supplying the pressurized liquid treatment material to the inner chamber to impregnate the structure to be treated.

  • Patent number: 5350121
Abstract: A process and apparatus are provided for breaking the glass components of articles comprised of glass and nonglass components and liberating the glass components from the nonglass components by subjecting the articles to controlled vibrations sufficient to break the glass without breaking the nonglass components. The apparatus is a vibratory device having a screen deck and a plate deck. The screen deck has holes through which the broken glass falls to the plate deck. The nonglass components remain on the screen deck. Thereafter, the nonglass components are removed by one or more of a variety of means. The glass may be further processed by cleaning, rinsing and further crushing to size the glass pieces. Glass of different types may optionally be separated by taking advantage of the differences in specific gravities between glass types.

  • Patent number: 4637557
Abstract: A cleaning device is provided for use with sizing screens in material reduction apparatus, such as crushers, pulverizers and shredders. The cleaning device automatically clears obstructions from the openings in a screen. The preferred embodiment of the cleaning device includes a rake connected to a carriage assembly. The carriage assembly includes a wheel and rail system. The tines of the rake extend upwards into the openings of the screen. When the wheels move along the rail, the rake tines travel along the openings in the screen, forcing any obstructing material into another portion of the material reduction apparatus. The rake is actuated manually, periodically at predetermined intervals or in response to a sensed reduction in flow.
