  • Patent number: 11536308
Abstract: An adjustable fastener system generally includes an anchor component, a drive component, and a finish head component. The finish head component is threaded onto the anchor component to form the completed fastener that may be adjusted to different heights. The drive component is used to drive the anchor component into position prior to adjusting the finish head component. In some embodiments, the drive component may be used before the finish head component is installed, and in other embodiments, the drive component may be used with the finish head component installed. The adjustable fastener system saves time and effort at a construction site, eliminates the amount of prep work, and eliminates the need to have multiple different fasteners on site. The adjustable fastener system may be used for installing insulation panels over concrete in a roofing system as well as other applications.

  • Publication number: 20100062238
Abstract: A process for the manufacture of a composite article is described wherein the process comprises the steps of (i) providing on a tool (22) a fibrous material (14) having associated therewith in at least one region thereof an in-situ polymerisable non-fibrous form of a thermoplastic material; (ii) applying heat and a vacuum to said material; and additionally (iii) drawing into the fibrous material, from a source external to the tool, additional thermoplastic pre-polymer material. The process described is particularly useful for the manufacture of a large composite structure such as thermoplastic composite wind turbine blade, for example.

  • Patent number: 6276329
Abstract: A rotary machine, usable as an engine or as a pump, has a toroidal cylinder (25) which is swept by continuously rotating disc-like piston (34). The cylinder has a double disc valve arrangement (42, 44) at one point, so that it can be divided into a compression side and an expansion side. However the piston has to pass the position of the valve during each revolution, and the valve opens briefly to allow this to happen. The compressed gas is forced into a storage chamber (62) outside the cylinder, and a valve (64) which is operated independently of the double disc valve arrangement (42, 44) is used to determine how much gas is admitted to the combustion chamber (25c), and when it is admitted.

  • Patent number: 4031494
Abstract: A sealed reed spring switch in which a single pair of contacting springs carries two or more electrically insulated conducting paths. The electrically conductive, magnetically responsive springs are coated with an insulating material at least on opposing surfaces over which two or more distinct conductive coatings are formed. Two circuits such as a telephone tip and ring circuit, for example, may be simultaneously controlled by a single sealed two-path switch unit.

  • Patent number: 3947038
Abstract: A map board game consists of a playing board having a map printed thereon, wherein a grid system consisting of squares is also printed on the playing surface. Spinner devices for moving in latitudinal and longitudinal directions on the map are provided, as well as a compass spinner device. Nation cards are provided for indicating nations acquired by a player landing on a particular nation.

  • Patent number: 3934214
Abstract: A sealed contact includes a capsule enclosing a pair of magnetic reeds. Each reed has a fixed end sealed in the capsule and a flat movable portion with side edges substantially parallel to one another for a predetermined length and tapered toward one another from the end of the predetermined length to the tip of the movable portion. The reeds are positioned so that the movable portions overlap one another by an overlap length and define an overlap area which is less sensitive to variation in overlap length than a conventional sealed contact having reeds cut substantially normal to the parallel side edges.
