  • Patent number: 11777852
Abstract: A method of operating a web service atomic transaction (WS-AT) system includes: receiving, at a processor of an extensible markup language (XML) gateway, a first message from a communicatively coupled client, and inserting a WS-AT Transaction Identifier (ID) from a Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) header into a hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) header of the first message to generate a first modified message. The method also includes: receiving, at a processor of a network device communicatively coupled to the XML gateway, the first modified message from the XML gateway, determining that the WS-AT Transaction ID is not yet associated with a service provider in a routing table, and in response, sending the first modified message to a particular service provider and associating the WS-AT Transaction ID with the particular service provider in the routing table such that future messages from the client can be routed to the particular service provider.

  • Publication number: 20080132428
Abstract: A method of replicating a DNA microarray in which a multi-drop transfer plate is loaded with PCR master-mix and then moved into close proximity with a master array so that a portion of the PCR master mix is transferred to the master array. The master array is immersed in oil so that complementary DNA may be produced by one or more steps of a PCR reaction. A replica substrate loaded with water drops is then brought into close proximity with the master array so that a portion of complementary DNA is transferred onto the replica substrate. After cleaning any residual oil from replica substrate, it is ready for use.

  • Patent number: 6824664
Abstract: The present invention further provides a device for the integrated micromanipulation, amplification, and analysis of polarized particles such as DNA comprises a microchip which contains constrictions of insulating material for dielectrophoresis powered by an alternating current or direct current signal generator, and attached to a hot source that can be heated to specific temperatures. Nucleic acids can be heated and cooled to allow for denaturation, and the annealing of complementary primers and enzymatic reactions, as in a thermocycling reaction. After such a reaction has been completed at the constriction, the dielectrophoretic field can be switched to a direct field to release the product and direct it through a matrix for fractionation. The device includes data analysis equipment for the control of these operations, and imaging equipment for the analysis of the products.

  • Patent number: 6203683
Abstract: A device for the integrated micromanipulation, amplification, and analysis of polyelectrolytes such as DNA comprises a microchip which contains electrodes for dielectrophoresis powered by an AC signal generator, and a trapping electrode attached to a direct current source that can be heated to specific temperatures. Nucleic acids can be heated and cooled to allow for denaturation, the annealing of complementary primers and enzymatic reactions, as in a thermocycling reaction. After such a reaction has been completed on the trapping electrode, the dielectrophoretic field can be switched to a direct current to release the product and direct it through a matrix for fractionation and/or analysis. The device includes data analysis equipment for the control of these operations, and imaging equipment for the analysis of the products. The invention permits the efficient handling of minute samples in large numbers, since reactions occur while sample material is positioned on an electrode in a microfluidic channel.

  • Patent number: 5453587
Abstract: A transportable, remotely actuated racking device is provided for use in connection the insertion and removal of very high voltage industrial circuit breakers. The device includes a motor activated rod assembly which is moved between first and second positions for grasping of the circuit breaker during insertion and removal from the circuit breaker housing. The racking device is remotely operated from a point of safety relative to the circuit breaker whereby direct exposure to possible fire and explosions which might occur during racking is greatly reduced.
