  • Patent number: 5839173
Abstract: A connecting apparatus for detachably interconnecting two objects includes male and female structures respectively connectable to the objects. The female structure is of unitary, one-piece construction having parallel planar walls cooperating to define a receptacle therebetween, one wall having an aperture therein communicating with the receptacle and extending to a peripheral edge of the wall for opening thereat to define an entrance. An inclined flexible and resilient cam portion is laterally offset to one side of the entrance and is integral with the one wall and inclined out of the plane thereof toward the other wall. Male structure has a stud projecting therefrom with a part-circular head having a straight side and dimensioned to pass through the entrance so that, in one rotational orientation of the head, it will clear the cam portion to permit free passage into and out of the receptacle.

  • Patent number: 5347693
Abstract: A quick-release connecting apparatus for detachably interconnecting two objects includes male and female structures respectively attachable to the objects. The female structure has a generally U-shaped receptacle formed therein which opens at a peripheral edge thereof, the male structure has a stud projecting therefrom with a part-circular head at its distal end with a straight side which is dimensioned to be received in the receptacle from its open end and being rotatable about the axis of the stud while disposed in the receptacle. A retaining prong is unitary with the female structure and is flexibly and resiliently movable between a locking position projecting into the entrance of the receptacle and a release position out of the entrance.

  • Patent number: 5201858
Abstract: A quick-release connecting apparatus for detachably interconnecting two objects includes male and female members, respectively attachable to the objects. The female member has a generally U-shaped receptacle formed therein which opens at a peripheral edge thereof, and an aperture formed in the front surface of the female member which is aligned with but smaller than the receptacle and communicates therewith. The male member has a stud projection therefrom with a part-circular head at its distal end which is too large to pass through the aperture but is dimensioned to be received in the receptacle from its open end with the stud disposed through the aperture and is rotatable about the axis of the stud while disposed in the receptacle. A spring-biased pawl is mounted on the female member for movement between a locking position projecting into the entrance of the receptacle and a release position out of the entrance.

  • Patent number: 5054170
Abstract: A quick-release connecting apparatus for mounting an object on a belt includes male and female members, respectively attachable to the object and the belt-mountable holder. The female member has a generally U-shaped receptacle formed therein which opens at a peripheral edge of the female member, and an aperture formed in the front surface of the female member which is aligned with but smaller than the receptacle and communicates therewith. The male member has a stud projecting therefrom with a circular button at its distal end which is too large to pass through the aperture but is dimensioned to be receivable in the receptacle from its open end with the stud disposed through the aperture and is rotabale about the axis of the stud while disposed in the receptacle. A yieldable detent projects from the female member into the entrance of the receptacle so as to be deflectable by the button to permit insertion thereof in any position into the receptacle.

  • Patent number: 4605335
Abstract: Quick-release connecting apparatus for mounting an object on a belt includes male and female members, respectively attachable to the object and the belt. The male member has a stud projecting therefrom with a teardrop-shaped button or flange at its distal end which has the same configuration as a teardrop-shaped opening in the front surface of the female member, which opening communicates with a circular recess in the rear of the female member and larger than the opening. The button is insertable axially through the opening and into the recess, permitting rotation of the male member about 180.degree. to an attached position wherein the button engages the bearing surface at three spaced-apart locations. The stud has arcuate surfaces which can engage the edges of the opening when the male member is disposed in the recess for inhibiting translational movement of the male member except during insertion into and withdrawal from the opening.
