  • Publication number: 20060274945
Abstract: A photo ID badge issuing system includes a scanning unit operable to capture an electronic copy of a government issued picture ID or passport of a person. The photo ID badge issuing system then extracts an electronic image of the person from the electronic copy of the government issued picture ID or passport and generates a photo ID badge using the extracted electronic image. By using the electronic image from the government issued picture ID or passport, the photo ID badge issuing system eliminates the need to interface with a digital camera or similar device, and also eliminates the extra time spent capturing a new digital image of the person with the digital camera.

  • Publication number: 20050036257
Abstract: The over-current protection device of the present invention uses the unbalanced properties of the thermal expansion coefficients between the outer and inner sides for an upper metallic conductive sheet and a lower metallic conductive sheet to generate a torque to deform outwardly. The torque is used to pull a current-sensing element and present with at least a cracking face, so as to introduce an electrically open effect similar to a fuse. Thus, the present invention can achieve the object for preventing the danger of circuit system by the short circuit during the burning of over-current protection device.

  • Publication number: 20040161781
Abstract: The present invention provides compositions and methods for screening of compounds that decrease the activity of thymidylate synthase either directly or indirectly. The composition of the invention comprises a DNA construct comprising from the 5′ to the 3′ direction, a TBE cassette comprising one or more copies, in forward or reverse orientation, of TBE1 and TBE2, and a reporter gene operably linked to a promoter and optionally a selectable marker.

  • Publication number: 20040061715
Abstract: An organizational system that can organize all of the parts associated with a given system down to a nth or least/lowest replaceable/repairable component in a hierarchical manner and store the parts as a Bill of Materials (BOM). Each of the different parts listed in the BOM is associated with a unique part number. The organizational system can display or print the BOM such that the hierarchy between the parts is apparent so that the BOM can be used to build actual systems (assemblies).

  • Patent number: 6325283
Abstract: The NYTBridge allows a user to bridge the gap between data collected by hand-held scanning devices and conventional databases used in the field of inventory management without database or procedural programming knowledge on the part of the user. The NYTBridge does this by first allowing the user to access an existing database. The user may then select data fields, such as the location of an item in inventory, from the database without writing coded database queries. The NYTBridge then allows the user to download the selected data fields as a data set along with a scanner program that will read the created data set. Both the data set and the scanner program are either saved on a PCMCIA card to be used in a scanner, or downloaded directly into the hand held scanner via either serial port communication or communication dock tethering. When the scanner program is run on the scanner, the scanner program creates a scanner file for the collected, verified and/or corrected data.

  • Patent number: 5809137
Abstract: A telephone line connector for location between a telephone and a plurality of outlet sockets and in which the connector is connectable to a power cable. The connector has a plurality of input signal sockets and a common signal and power output socket. A pair of power input terminals are connected to the common socket. The common socket also has pairs of signal output terminals connected in such a way that the connector through the input signal sockets is connectable to a plurality of wall outlets, each of which may have a single pair or a plurality of pairs of lines connected to it. The connector is thus capable of transferring all of those lines, as required, to a telephone together with power.

  • Patent number: 5169218
Abstract: A computer mainframe front panel assembly, comprising a front panel which has a hole on a sloping top edge and a diskdrive slot on a vertical front wall, swivel control panel fastened in the hole on said sloping top edge and pivoted to a framework for a computer mainframe, and a lift gate moved to close or open said diskdrive slot. The lift gate comprises a frame attached to the front panel at the back to hold a cover plate which is maintained at any of various level positions by alternatively engaging a plurality of spring pawls on said cover plate into a plurality of recesses on said frame. Power switch is switched on when the control panel is moved to an opened position, or switched off when the control panel is moved to a closed position to block up the hole on the sloping top edge of the front panel.
