  • Patent number: 4753439
Abstract: A psychograph, of a type employing a movable indicator to designate indicia on a principal part of the device such as a board, can be constructed so that the indicator will cause a switch to close each time it points to or otherwise designates an indicia. A circuit is used to provide an output in the form of a signal capable of being stored or used by a computer, an electronic typewriter or the like when a switch is closed for a pedetermined time interval. Normally the board or similar part of the device will carry a plurality of indicia and a separate switch will be associated with each so that signals corresponding to all of the indicia can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 4437413
Abstract: A Sarrus linkage is a type of folding linkage or structure in which two opposed links are connected by two sets of connecting links, each of which sets includes two separate links. The links of such a linkage are hinged together in such a manner that the entire linkage will fold and unfold as any part of the linkage is moved with respect to the remainder of the linkage. By providing a control link which is pivotally connected to one of the opposed links and a motion transmitting link pivotally connected to the control link and to one of the links of one of the sets, a folding structure can be obtained which can be employed for a variety of useful purposes. Best results are obtained when two of the motion transmitting links are employed, one of the motion transmitting links being pivotally connected between a link of one of the sets and the control link and the other of the motion transmitting means being connected between a link of the other of the sets and the control link.

  • Patent number: 4371167
Abstract: A psychograph including a bottom member provided with a plurality of indicia on its upper surface and a planchette or small table movable relative to the upper surface so as to successively indicate various of the indicia can be constructed so as to produce a sound when the planchette is moved into a position to indicate a specific indicia. Such sound production is accomplished by locating a permanent magnet on the planchette or within the planchette so that it is movable to actuate a tone bar or similar member located on or within the planchette. Iron or other ferromagnetic non-permanently magnetized members or permanent magnets are located on the bottom member in association with each of the indicia so as to cause movement of the permanent magnet on the planchette.

  • Patent number: 4159112
Abstract: A folding structure useful as a "climber" or climbing type play equipment for children can be constructed so as to utilize an odd number of sides located in side edge to side edge relation. One of the sides used can be referred to as an end side; the remainder of the sides consist of an even number of pairs of sides, the sides on each of the pairs having identical external dimensions. Hinges are utilized to connect the adjacent edges of all of the sides to one another so as to form a continuous "band" type structure. The sides are of such external dimensions as to permit them to be folded between an open position in which all of the sides define a hollow structure and a collapsed position in which the sides of the pairs of sides extend adjacent to one another in a stacked relationship and in which the end side extends along side edges of the sides as they are located in this stacked configuration.
