Publication number: 20240117950Abstract: An entry step lighting system for a deployable aircraft stairway. The system includes steps that having integrated light sources that direct and provide illumination to the steps. Some light sources illuminate strip lenses which indicate proximity to the step edges. Light emitted by a second group of light sources is directed into an angled face established on a riser wall between each step. The light bounces off of each angled face to illuminate the step below.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 11, 2023Publication date: April 11, 2024Inventors: Edward Francis Funke, Rebecca Rae Groninga, Allan Dale Schrag

Publication number: 20240099290Abstract: A wick for a liquid electric vaporiser is disclosed. The wick comprises charcoal, inorganic minerals and water. Furthermore, the wick has a lower end and an upper end and is characterized in that the wick has a porosity between 24% and 44%, more preferably between 28% and 42%, and most preferably between 31% and 40% by volume. The wick exhibits a permeability between 3.2 and 9 mm per hour, more preferably between 3.8 and 8 mm per hour, and most preferably between 4 and 6 mm per hour, wherein the permeability is a measure of a vertical travel speed of a solvent liquid to travel from the lower end to the upper end of the wick by capillary action when the lower end of the wick is placed in a pool of the solvent liquid having a viscosity of between 1 and 10 cP, in particular between 1 and 4 cP, and a pool depth of about 2-4 mm. A liquid electric vaporiser including said wick is also disclosed.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 14, 2021Publication date: March 28, 2024Inventors: Edward FRANCIS, Ankita KHANNA, Deeksha PUNJ, Skand SAKSENA

Patent number: 11608918Abstract: A hose connector is formed at the end of a rigid pipe body used to connect the pipe body to a flexible polymeric hose. The hose connector includes a frustoconical front end extending outward from a tip to a radially enlarged first ring portion that terminates at a circumferential first step. A radially reduced second ring portion extends from the first step backwards at a constant diameter to a circumferential rear edge. A circumferential second step extends from the second ring portion rear edge backwards in a decreasing circumferential diameter to a mid-section of the pipe body. A flexible hose is adapted to be inserted by pressure over the pipe body at the tip end until it passes beyond the second step to at least the mid-section of the pipe body.Type: GrantFiled: May 29, 2020Date of Patent: March 21, 2023Assignee: Cooper-Standard Automotive Inc.Inventors: Edward Francis Calcut, Daniel P. Patent number: 10935362Abstract: An sensor unit has an analog Hall-effect sensor coupled to a microprocessor containing an analog to digital converter. It is mounted to the frame of a cell door. A magnet is mounted to the cell door so that when the door is closed, they are in close-proximity. A calibration initiates the storage of digital voltage signal presented by the Hall-effect sensor, via an analog to digital converter, when the cell door is closed. This door-closed value is constantly compared to the current value based on the position of the cell door. If this value deviates within preset limitations of the stored value, the sensor unit signals a fault condition to a connected central control panel which sends a “door ajar” notification to a designated user's cell phone as well as activating a local alarm.Type: GrantFiled: May 29, 2019Date of Patent: March 2, 2021Inventors: Edward Francis Burress, Stephen Lawrence Dillier
