    Abstract: A bi-directional belt sorter for unloading items into a selected bin located along a travel path of a conveyor system includes a carrier and a support frame secured to the carrier. The carrier has a plurality of orientations with respect to the support frame. The carrier includes a conveyor belt for unloading items into the selected bin located to the side of or in-line with the travel path of the conveyor system. The conveyor system includes a host computer for controlling the distribution of items to selected bins.
