  • Patent number: 9784187
Abstract: A gas turbine engine is provided. The gas turbine engine includes a compressor assembly and a combustion assembly in flow communication with the compressor assembly. The combustion assembly includes a plurality of fuel nozzles and a fluid conduit for delivering fuel to the fuel nozzles. The fluid conduit has a plurality of first outlet ports that are spaced apart from one another along the fluid conduit, and the fluid conduit also has a plurality of second outlet ports that are spaced apart from one another along the fluid conduit. The fluid conduit further has a first flow path extending along the fluid conduit in flow communication with the first outlet ports, and the fluid conduit also has a second flow path extending along the fluid conduit in flow communication with the second outlet ports. At least a portion of the first flow path is circumscribed by the second flow path.

  • Patent number: 5097744
Abstract: A hydraulic control system is provided for regulating the slew rate of a servovalve driven actuator within design parameters despite widely varying load conditions. The servovale flow is maintained constant in accord with the integration of the difference between a set slew rate command signal and a measured slew rate feedback signal. Where a plurality of such actuators are driven from a single hydraulic pump, this regulation of servovalve flow also enables the pump supply pressure to remain constant despite widely varying load conditions on the individual actuators in the system.

  • Patent number: 4548040
Abstract: A method and apparatus for determining when to initiate the cleaning of the turbine blades of a turbocharger is disclosed. The performance of the compressor portion of the turbocharger is monitored and upon a degradation in performance being detected it is indicated that fouling of the turbine blades has occurred. In response to this indication a water injection system is energized for supplying atomized water under high pressure to the exhaust gas powering the turbocharger to effectively clean the turbine blades. Means are provided for decreasing the speed of the turbocharger during the cleaning cycle to allow for an effective cleaning operation.

  • Patent number: 4514643
Abstract: A method and apparatus utilizing valves mounted in parallel for controlling fluid flow powering an expander is disclosed. A large slow acting valve and a smaller faster acting valve are combined to obtain the desired control including a damped response. A start-up control based on shaft speed is further disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4066949
Abstract: A probe holder assembly includes a probe holder mounted in cantilevered fashion within a support structure. The support structure includes a generally elongated cylindrical housing. The elongated free end of said holder extends substantially coaxial within said housing. The holder includes a pair of spaced circumferentially extending grooves formed on the outer surface thereof in proximity to the holder's free end. Each of the grooves has a resilient ring provided therein, with the outer surface of each ring being in contact with the inner surface of said housing portion to provide a resilient support structure for said holder within said housing.
