  • Patent number: 4748967
Abstract: There is disclosed a portable space heater comprised of a base member, a cylindrically-shaped chimney member including means for removably inserting a fuel source therein mounted on the base member and defining therebetween inlet means for combustion air and a substantially planar lid member mounted on said cylindrically-shaped chimney member and defining therebetween an outlet means for combustion gases.

  • Patent number: 4735021
Abstract: An abrasive blasting system which includes an improved mixing and control valve assembly together with an improved manually operable discharge nozzle assembly. The mixing and control valve assembly comprises a housing defining first and second chambers connected by a generally circular opening. An abrasive particle inlet and an outlet are formed in the second chamber. A stem extends axially through the opening between the first and second chambers to define an open annular passageway through which pressure fluid supplied to the first chamber passes in a swirling motion to mix with the abrasive particles in the second chamber and impel them out the outlet. A valve member carried by the stem is arranged for selective engagement with the outlet to stop flow through the assembly.

  • Patent number: 4732564
Abstract: Apparatus includes a mandible alignment device and a jaw pattern jig to prepare a one-piece metal dental implant for insertion into a patient's mouth. The alignment device has a central scissors member with a rear positioned thumb wheel controlling the longitudinal spread of the scissors blades. A front portion of a longitudinal angle adjustment member mounted over the scissors holds an anterior foot portion of a dental implant. A rod integral with the end of each scissors blade supports a housing holding a ramus member portion of a dental implant. After a pattern is determined by the alignment device, it is locked into the jaw pattern jig and the one-piece metal dental implant is bent to shape to substitute for the anterior foot and ramus members removed from the alignment device.

  • Patent number: 4191400
Abstract: An improved anchor for the upper portion of a shoulder harness belt in a vehicle restraint system. An anchor member having a substantial force transmitting relationship with the shoulder harness belt, preferably through a webbing relay, has a certain degree of universal type movement, and therefore allows the anchor member and the webbing relay to make appropriate movements to follow the many odd angles and twists which the webbing relay may be subjected to. The anchorage is further designed to transmit high forces between the webbing relay and the frame of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4057199
Abstract: A retractor including a reel normally biased in a direction tending to wind a belt (such as an automobile belt) around the reel, and including apparatus for placing the retractor in a tensionless condition. A locking surface is fixed to the reel and a locking member is biased toward engagement with the locking surface to resist rotation of the reel in a belt winding direction. A control member is movable in the path of movement of the locking member, and includes a first portion which holds the locking member out of engagement with the locking surface and a second portion which cooperates with the locking member and allows the locking member to engage the locking surface. Gate means are mounted on the control member and are movable relative to the control member into a first position holding the locking member from engagement with the locking surface during a preselected range of movement of the control member relative to the locking member.
