  • Patent number: 9208369
Abstract: A system including an imaging device configured to capture one or more images of a designated area with illumination at a low optical transmission wavelength which makes a latent print or a contaminant within the designated area visible in a visible spectrum in the one or more captured images with clarity to determine an identification from the latent print or contaminant in the one or more images, and a computing system configured to create a three-dimensional image from the one or more images to provide a composite image of the designated area with the latent print or contaminant visible with clarity to determine an identification from latent print or contaminant in the composite image is disclosed. • Publication number: 20150117477
Abstract: A laser apparatus and method are provided for generating optical pulses based on Q-switching controllable with a fast and reliable two-dimensional (2-D) spatial light modulator, such as a digital micro-mirror device (DMD). Temporal and spatial modulation may be applied to selectively control the Q-switching provided by the spatial light modulator. The apparatus and method may be optionally optimized with straightforward optical components to increase angular magnification of a beam incident on the spatial light modulator and thus effectively reduce the Q-switching time.

  • Publication number: 20140125811
Abstract: A system including an imaging device with a sensor having at least two dimensions operating in a long wave infrared emission spectrum to collect images of a latent print or a contaminant at different illuminating wavelengths, a storage device comprising a database of known material spectra, and a processor configured to determine an absorption spectrum per image based on a detection of high contrast being associated with low optical transmission and a detection of low contrast being associated with a high optical transmission and to compare the determined absorption spectrum with the known material spectra to determine a material identification of the latent print or the contaminant is disclosed. A method and a non-transitory processor readable storage medium are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20140071292
Abstract: A system including an imaging device, located a distance from a surface, configured to capture an image of a latent print or a contaminant on the surface at a first aspect ratio and with a first field of view on a surface, and a light emitting device, located a distance from the surface, configured to illuminate at a ultraviolet-c wavelength or a long wave infrared wavelength at the surface at a second aspect ratio equal to the first aspect ratio and with a shape of a field of view on the surface equal to the first field of view on the surface is disclosed. The captured image illustrates a reflected light image of the latent print or contaminant in a visible spectrum. A method and a non-transitory processor readable storage medium are also disclosed.
