  • Publication number: 20230216858
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for providing a dynamic user interface for managing resource permissions while using a browser. An example method includes determining that a user of the computing device has not blocked a permission for a resource and has not allowed the permission for the resource, the permission for the resource being requested by a website. The method may also include obtaining a permission score for the resource from a model, the permission score representing a likelihood of the user allowing use of the resource. The method may also include selecting a permissions interface element from one of a loud user interface element, a quiet user interface element, and an intermediate user interface element based on the permission score and generating a user interface on a display that includes the permissions interface element.

  • Publication number: 20220365639
Abstract: Systems and methods are described that include receiving, in a tab strip generated by a web browser application, a request to generate a tab group, generating the tab group, in response to receiving the request, where the generating includes generating a tab group identifier for the tab group, enabling pausing or starting of an activity associated with a resource accessed by a browser tab within the tab group based on whether the tab group is collapsed or expanded, and storing metadata about the tab group and the browser tab included in the tab group. The systems and methods may further include causing display of the generated tab group in the tab strip with the tab group identifier depicted in at least a portion of a user interface associated with the browser tab where the generated tab group is configured for display based on the metadata.

  • Patent number: 10013726
Abstract: A facility for facilitating processes for acquiring intellectual property assets (“assets”) is described. In some embodiments, the facility enables an organization operating the facility to generate a budget for a proposed acquisition of assets. The organization may include multiple entities that are together interested in acquiring the assets. The entities may each provide values for the assets, either by applying rules that automatically attribute values to the assets, by having human analysts manually analyze the assets to estimate their values, or by some combination of these two techniques. The facility generates the budget based on the values determined for the assets. A person or team of people responsible for the proposed acquisition of assets can use the budget in negotiations to acquire the assets. If the assets are acquired, the facility can allocate acquisition and post-acquisition expenses among the entities on whose behalf the assets were acquired.

  • Publication number: 20160119352
Abstract: A method and system for managing accounts that control access to resources of different providers. The account management system allows providers to use a common logon procedure through an account management server. The account management system dynamically creates accounts when users request to access resources. To access to a resource, a user provides their credentials (e.g., user identifier and password) through a certain location (e.g., client computer) and identifies the resource (e.g., application). The account management system determines whether an account has already been created for those credentials. If not, the account management system authenticates the user, creates a new account for those credentials (i.e., registration), and associates the identified resource with the account.

  • Patent number: 9030054
Abstract: Provided is a method of controlling a hybrid switch comprising a first individually controllable semiconductor switch operably coupled in parallel to a second individually controllable semiconductor switch. The first semiconductor switch has a faster switching speed and lower power-processing capability than the second semiconductor switch. A first reference value V1REF for a first default turn-on transition time interval ?T1 and a second reference value V2REF for a second default turn-off transition time interval ?T2 are accessed for the controllable hybrid switch, which is enabled and controlled so that it operates in accordance with V1REF and V2REF. The duration of the default ?T1 and ?T2 used to control operation of the controllable hybrid switch is dynamically adjusted to compensate for at least one of variations in a current to a load operably coupled to the controllable hybrid switch and environmental conditions at the controllable hybrid switch.

  • Patent number: 8819273
Abstract: A method and system for mapping logical identifiers to physical identifiers is provided. In one embodiment, a logical routing system allows each application, or more generally entity (e.g., user of an application), to register its logical identifier to physical identifier mapping when the application starts executing on a computer. To send a message to an application identified by a logical identifier, a client program uses the registered mapping to identify the physical identifier of the computer. If an application later starts executing on a different computer, then the application can register a different mapping.

  • Patent number: 7646186
Abstract: A holdover circuit is configured with a holdover capacitor, preferably an aluminum electrolytic capacitor, to provide uninterruptible operation for an electrical load operable over a limited range of input voltage during brief power interruptions. The holdover circuit includes a switching regulator configured with two active switches that are controlled with complementary duty cycles to charge and discharge the holdover capacitor at a voltage higher than the voltage of the load. The controller for the switching regulator may be configured to regulate the voltage of the holdover capacitor at a voltage proportional to the load voltage or at a constant voltage. The controller for the switching regulator is configured to operate in different modes during normal powered operation and during holdover.
