  • Patent number: 4457620
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for printing borders on photographic prints. Unlike the existing border printers, this apparatus permits opposite borders to be printed at the same time. The apparatus comprises a panel with a flat surface having a paper stop at one edge, a frame, hinged to the panel at the one edge, having two parallel arms perpendicular to the paper stop, two sliding cross bars extending between the two parallel arms, the cross bars adapted to be maintained parallel with the paper stop at any position in the frame, each cross bar having a straight edge strip at one side to press the photographic print against the flat surface of the panel, and an expandible lightproof concertina-type cover extending between the two sliding cross bars in the frame, the cover having lightproof edge connections with the two parallel arms when the cross bars are at any position in the frame.

  • Patent number: 4268156
Abstract: A washing apparatus for washing photographic materials is disclosed. The apparatus has an aerator which can be adjusted to supply air and water at varying flow and water pressures and overcomes other problems in print and negative washers of this type. The apparatus comprises a tank for holding photographic materials such as prints and negatives, a plurality of fluid entrance holes at the bottom of the tank and a fluid distribution system connecting the plurality of fluid entrance holes to an inlet outside and adjacent the bottom of the tank. A removable aerator means is provided, adapted to fit into the inlet of the fluid distribution system, the aerator means has a connection to a water supply and a water jet within a tubular housing which has an inside cross sectional area that may be changed to vary the flow of water through the jet.

  • Patent number: 4190357
Abstract: A photographic enlarging easel is disclosed for positioning and masking photographic paper on a base plate. The easel allows the paper to be positioned anywhere on the base plate and provides masking blades that are removable and can be moved anywhere on the easel. The easel has a base plate with a flat surface for the paper, a rectangular open frame formed of four members, each having substantially similar cross sections, the frame pivoted about a pivot line parallel to and extending outside one edge of the base plate, the frame when in the closed position resting on the flat surface of the base plate allowing the paper to extend beyond the base plate.

  • Patent number: 4154526
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for printing a border on a photographic print. The apparatus is particularly useful for printing black borders which have always been difficult and costly to produce. The apparatus includes a light source within an enclosure having a translucent flat top surface to emit light and a straight edge at one side thereof, the enclosure having sides formed from opaque material. A further flat surface is positioned in the same plane as the translucent surface extending from the straight edge, a platen is formed from opaque material extending over the translucent surface with a sealing and pressure strip over the straight edge, a right angle corner frame positioned on the translucent surface with one arm having an edge parallel to the straight edge, an adjustable guide means for the corner frame and a locking means for locating the corner frame in a position on a linear path.
