  • Publication number: 20240123536
Abstract: A plurality of wire guide modules are interconnected and pivotally attached to each other. The wire guide modules are pivotable between straight configuration and a curved configuration. Each wire guide module defines a channel (22) extending longitudinally therethrough with bearings (24, 26, 28) on opposite lateral sides of the channel. The wire guide modules are defined by first (10a) and second (10b) halves that are joined together to define the channel and retain the bearings. Each wire guide module defines a slot portion (40a) at a first end and tongue portion (42a) at the second end. The tongue portion is sized to be received within the slot portion. The tongue portion defines a pivot hole and the slot portion defines pivot pins received in the pivot hole to define the pivot axis therebetween.

  • Publication number: 20230256533
Abstract: An end assembly for use with a welding device having a chamber between the diffuser sleeve and the insert which allows for cooling the insert and for controlling the flow of gas through the end assembly. Some of the components of the end assembly such as the contact tip, insert and gooseneck are constructed of a conductive material which are securely held together in contact by a diffuser sleeve constructed of a dissimilar material. The end assembly provides better conductivity of the current through the end assembly for use of less energy during welding.

  • Publication number: 20220402063
Abstract: An orientation and guide mechanism for a welding system includes a pair of opposed guide members. A weld wire having a non-round cross-section is fed through a guide passageway formed between the guide members, each of which have recessed channels that combine to define the guide passageway. The guide passageway has a non-round shape corresponding to the non-round shape of the wire. The orientation mechanism and the guide members thereof is adjustable relative to a welding device of the weld system, such that the orientation of the wire can be controlled and maintained by adjusting the orientation mechanism. The wide side of the wire may be adjusted to be presented to a radiant energy source, and/or the non-round wire may be adjusted relative to the desired weld seam.

  • Publication number: 20220379397
Abstract: A wire guide conduit is constructed from a coiled wire having an oval or elliptical cross-sectional shape. The wire is subjected to a directed energy beam to locally heat portions of the wire to create discrete areas of increased hardness in the surface of the wire. The wire is coiled to present the locally hardened regions on an inside passageway of the conduit. The wire guide conduit may be used in additional applications such as a control wire for an actuation system.

  • Publication number: 20220362908
Abstract: A welding plier includes a first handle and a second handle joined at a pivot point. A spring is disposed between the first and the second handle and biases the first handle away from the second handle. The welding plier also includes a first jaw that extends from the first handle and a second jaw that extends from the second handle. Interior surfaces of the first and second jaws are configured to come into contact with one another when a force is applied to the first handle and/or the second handle so as to overcome the biasing force provided by the spring. • Patent number: 11458560
Abstract: An end assembly for use with a welding device having a contact tip, a diffusor body, and a gooseneck. The contact tip has a convex end surface that contacts and mates with a concave end of the diffuser body. The diffuser body forms a blind bore forming central web and a series of passageways. A longitudinal passageway segment is formed in the contact tip parallel with the central longitudinal electrode bore of the contact tip. A second passageway segment joins the first longitudinal passageway segment. When the contact tip is affixed to the diffuser body, a chamber is formed at the base of the contact tip communicating with the diffuser body passageways. Shielding gas that flows into the diffuser body passes through the web passageways into the chamber and through the first and second passageways of the contact tip to provide shielding gas to the weld site and cool the contact tip during welding operations.
