  • Patent number: 5167215
Abstract: A concrete saw mounted on a wheeled housing for making a substantially linear cut in the surface of a masonry slab is provided with a dust removal apparatus. The dust removal apparatus includes a blade guard partially surrounding the circular blade mounted for rotation on the side of the wheeled housing and a pivotally mounted funnel mounted on the blade guard. The funnel is telescopically mounted on a portion of the blade guard and extends between the blade guard and the slab being cut. A bottom edge of the funnel is provided with a rounded bearing surface so that it rides on the surface of the slab. A vacuum machine is connected to an exhaust duct of the funnel so that concrete dust generated during the making of a cut is continuously exhausted through the funnel and a flexible hose to the vacuum machine as a cut is being made.

  • Patent number: 5147146
Abstract: A power trowel surface finishing machine comprising a rotatable trowel blade assembly having a plurality of trowel blades disposed on a circumferentially-spaced arrangement, each of the trowel blades being mounted for rotation on radial axes substantially parallel to the surface to be finished, said trowel blades being adapted to rest on the surface to be finished and rotate across the surface; a first adjustment mechanism including a rotary knob for selectively pivoting the trowel blades about the respective radial axes thereof to selectively adjust the pitch of the blades in controlled increments throughout an adjustment range with respect to the surface and maintain the pitch so selected within the adjustment range; and a second adjustment mechanism including a pivotable lever coupled to said first adjustment mechanism for overriding said first adjustment mechanism and rapidly pivoting the trowel blades about the respective radial axes to position the trowel blades from the selected pitch to another select

  • Patent number: 4446845
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a portable, table-type masonry saw for cutting concrete blocks, bricks, marble, tile, stone and other objects. The masonry saw includes a gasoline engine for driving a saw blade through a belt drive arrangement coupled to an arbor shaft on which the blade rotates. The gasoline engine is mounted on a stationary support while the saw blade is pivotally mounted by means of a live pivot shaft for engagement and disengagement with the workpiece. A water trough and pump are provided for wet-cutting. The water pump is connected to an output shaft of the gasoline engine through a belt drive which may be removed to permit dry-cutting of an object.

  • Patent number: 4398737
Abstract: A detachable wheeled dolly or hybrid roller skate device for separable connection to the base portion and the handle of relatively large and heavy wheelless power driven handle manipulated machines is disclosed whereby an upward push on lifting the handle tilts the machine from out of surface contact and allows the roller skate device to swing under the machine. A subsequent lowering of the machine allows the roller skate device to support the machine, whereby a downward push on the handle tilts the machine out of surface contact and facilitates transport of the machine from one location to another as required. The centroid or center of mass of the hybrid roller skate device is located so that the roller skate device will swing under the machine to be supported.
