Publication number: 20130254072Abstract: A collaborative real estate search is described. Overlay data including indications of properties for sale within a geographic area are provided to a first user device. The overlay data are capable of being overlaid on a map of the geographic area on a user interface. Selections of some of the properties for sale are received from the first user device and a list of those properties is stored within a folder associated with the first user. The system enables a second user device—associated with a second user who is associated with the first user—to access the list of the properties selected by the user. This includes enabling the second user device to cause information regarding the properties to be stored within the folder. The information is made available for display on a user interface of the first user device.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 30, 2013Publication date: September 26, 2013Applicant: REDFIN CORPORATIONInventors: David Eraker, Adam Michael Dougherty, Edward M. Patent number: 8070172Abstract: A leaning vehicle suspension. Preferred embodiments have two transversely-mounted steerable front wheels and a single rear wheel, but the vehicle suspension of the present invention may be used with two-wheeled vehicles or four-wheeled vehicles, and front and rear coupled vehicle suspensions may be employed. Two preferred embodiments of the vehicle suspension of the present invention are described. Both have a transverse leaf spring, left and right rotary dampers, and independent left and right parallelogram transverse control arms movably mounting left and right wheel mounting members to the vehicle's frame. A rocker member, to which the rotary dampers and leaf spring are mounted, is pivotally mounted to the vehicle frame by a central pivot bearing, permitting the rocker member to pivot about a longitudinal axis of the vehicle. The parallelogram geometry holds the front wheels at even camber throughout the suspension travel.Type: GrantFiled: February 12, 2010Date of Patent: December 6, 2011Assignee: TreMoto, LLCInventors: Edward M. Patent number: 6785592Abstract: A business methodology for optimizing energy procurement energy demand (usage) and energy supply for a facility or complex. After ascertaining a baseline model, energy consumption is monitored and adjusted to reflect dynamic economic factors of operations. With the accumulation of data, contract negotiations with energy suppliers may provide further energy savings. Over time and patterns of usage determined further savings and optimization in energy, equipment, staffing and other operational areas are obtained. Remote access provides efficient monitoring of established systems.Type: GrantFiled: July 13, 2000Date of Patent: August 31, 2004Assignee: Perot Systems CorporationInventors: Edward M. Patent number: 4942020Abstract: A converter for treating gases to remove pollutants or particulate matter having layers of normally nesting corrugated thin metal foil, with or without a catalyst supported thereon, and characterized by spaced strands of wire or nonvitreous inorganic ceramic thread interposed between the layers to maintain them in spaced relation for the passage of gas, e.g., exhaust gas from an engine or plant, therethrough. The principal advantages are the relatively high particulate trap efficiency, the relatively low back pressure, and the low cost of manufacture.Type: GrantFiled: June 27, 1988Date of Patent: July 17, 1990Assignee: W.R. Patent number: 4875436Abstract: There is provided a waste heat recovery system characterized by a boiler assembly including a heat recovery steam generator through which exhaust gas is flowed. The boiler assembly includes a high temperature steam tube heat exchanger, or superheater, and at a location downstream therefrom a water tube boiler. An ammonia gas injector is utilized for injecting ammonia into the exhaust gas stream which injector is located upstream of the superheater and water tube boiler. Finally, there is provided a low temperature selective catalytic reduction unit located downstream of the low temperature water tube boiler or evaporator. This arrangement simplifies retrofitting of existing heat recovery systems.Type: GrantFiled: May 23, 1988Date of Patent: October 24, 1989Assignee: W. R. Grace & Co.-Conn.Inventors: Edward M. Patent number: 4869738Abstract: A regenerable particulate trap for continuously separating particulates from, for example, the exhaust gas from a diesel engine, is characterized by a rotatable trap member mounted for rotation in the exhaust gas stream. Disposed over the face of the rotatable trap member on the upstream side is an enclosed, stationary chamber which isolates a portion of the rotatable trap member from the exhaust gas stream and directs a regenerating fluid through the rotating trap member, co-currently to the exhaust gas stream, to continuously remove the trapped particles by, e.g. burning in an oxygen-containing gas.Type: GrantFiled: August 26, 1987Date of Patent: September 26, 1989Assignee: W. R. Grace & Co.-Conn.Inventors: William R. Alcorn, Wesley P. Bullock, Edward M. Smith, William A. Whittenberger

Patent number: 4323788Abstract: To maintain a continuous non-interruptible d-c operating voltage for powering a load, where the operating voltage is produced from a-c line voltage subject to failure or low voltage transients, the required operating voltage is provided by two rechargeable batteries which are alternately connected to the load. While one battery supplies the d-c power to the load, the other battery is being charged by a battery charger which is driven by the a-c line voltage. As the active battery slowly discharges and the d-c operating voltage drops to a predetermined threshold level, the battery connections are automatically switched, the charged battery being connected to the load while the discharged battery is coupled to the battery charger for recharging. The connections to and from the batteries include SCR's which receive gating pulses only when a battery switch is to occur. No continuous gating signal is needed.Type: GrantFiled: October 2, 1980Date of Patent: April 6, 1982Assignee: Borg-Warner CorporationInventor: Edward M. Smith

Patent number: 4157771Abstract: A device for feeding fluid at substantially constant pressure from a flexible container compressible by a pressure plate movable toward and away from a stationary plate to form a variable volume chamber for the container. A linkage connects the pressure plate to spaced-apart transverse tensioning plates attached to the ends of a tensioning spring. The spring encircles a screw having threaded oppositely portions with nuts thereon for spreading the tensioning plates apart to tension the spring and move the pressure plate away from the stationary plate when the screw is rotated in one direction, and the tensioning plates are axially retractable on the screw by spring tension when the nuts are retracted by reversely rotating the screw, to apply substantially constant closing pressure through the linkage to the pressure plate.Type: GrantFiled: October 7, 1977Date of Patent: June 12, 1979Assignee: The Gorman-Rupp CompanyInventor: Edward M. Smith
