  • Patent number: 8466959
Abstract: A vehicle video control system is provided comprising a video camera unit having a wide angle (preferably a fisheye) lens mounted atop a column, wherein the column is attached to a manned or robotic vehicle, and an operator control unit in communication with the video camera unit. A continuous video image produced by the video camera unit is transmitted to the operator control unit. Such vehicle video control system provides a vehicle operator with an approximately hemispherical view from above the vehicle, providing the human operator with a continuous view of most of the area surrounding the vehicle. This video control system eliminates the burden of video camera control during simultaneous operation of the vehicle using the present system.

  • Patent number: 7733418
Abstract: An encapsulated self-balancing remote video camera system is provided, which is capable of righting itself into an upright, balanced position. The encapsulated self-balancing remote video camera system has a video camera, wireless communication means and balancing mass disposed within an internal, self-righting, inner structure. The inner structure is disposed within a transparent outer container, such that the inner structure may rotate within the outer container when resting upon a surface, such that the video camera rotates into an upright position by gravitational forces acting upon the balancing mass disposed with the inner structure. In addition, a remote operation means is provided, which enables a user of the present system to view video images transmitted from the video camera, and to remotely control movement of the lens and/or video camera.

  • Publication number: 20100089226
Abstract: A system for remotely monitoring an environment and selectively deploying munitions is provided. The system is comprised of sensors to monitor one or more select environments, one or more munitions deployment devices disposed in the selected environment, and an operator control unit (OCU) operable to communicate with the munitions deployment device(s) and sensors. Sensor data is communicated to the system, enabling a user to selectively deploy munitions disposed in or in communication with the munitions deployment device(s), based on the threat detected by the sensors. Deployable munitions include both lethal and non-lethal munitions. The munitions deployment devices may be deployed in a stationary location, or in mobile applications, such as on a robotic vehicle, and accommodate removably, electrically initiated munitions cartridges. Further, the deployment devices may be in wired or wireless communication with the system, allowing virtually unlimited scalability.

  • Patent number: 4339746
Abstract: An alarm control center having means for interchangeably assigning alarm parameters for each sensor loop in an array of sensor loops and for interchangeably assigning alarm outputs for each of the sensor loops. When the alarm control center senses an alarm condition on one of the sensor loops, the alarm control center increases the scanning rate for that particular sensor loop to verify the alarm condition.

  • Patent number: 4028733
Abstract: A system for retrievably providing a video display of a pictorial information message on a video display device from video information stored, such as on a video tape, in a plurality of frames, unique pictorial information being stored in each frame for display thereof in response to a request therefor, the frames each including a plurality of segments with one displayable pictorial information message being contained in each segment, the selected segment being retrievable for individual display of only this requested pictorial information containing frame segment. The video tape storage media in addition to the video track upon which the pictorial information is stored, contains an audio track having unique frame identification code information stored thereon for providing a frame location signal which is utilized to retrieve the frame.
