  • Publication number: 20240072131
Abstract: Strategic placement and patterning of electrodes, vias, and metal runners can significantly reduce strain in a power semiconductor die. By modifying the path defining electrodes, vias, and metal runners, as well as patterning the material layers thereof, strain can be better managed to increase reliability of a power semiconductor die.

  • Publication number: 20230126786
Abstract: A plant-based cheese product is provided. The plant-based cheese products have an appearance, cold texture, and melting characteristics similar to a dairy-based cheese. The cheese products include a plant-based protein, at least a first starch and a second starch, a fat component, and an acidulant. The first starch comprises a hydrophobic starch. The second starch comprises a modified starch. The fat component has a solid fat content in the range of 30% to about 60% at 50° F. and 0% to about 10% at 92° F. • Publication number: 20200359643
Abstract: Emulsifying salt-free processed cheese products as well as methods of preparing emulsifying salt-free processed cheese products are provided. The emulsifying salt-free processed cheese products are prepared with modified starch containing amylopectin and substantially no amylase and without emulsifying salts. The emulsifying salt-free processed cheese products are advantageously resistant to separation during heating and retain desirable organoleptic properties, such as texture and flavor, without using emulsifying salts.

  • Patent number: 8905388
Abstract: A block piece for holding a spectacle lens blank has a basic body with a workpiece mounting face portion against which the workpiece can be blocked with a blocking material, and a clamping portion via which the blocked workpiece can be fixed in a machine/apparatus for processing it. The basic body is made substantially of a material having a defined low water absorption and/or is sealed to at least reduce outgassing of water moisture under vacuum conditions, so that the block piece can be used also in vacuum coating processes. Alternatively or in addition, the clamping portion is constructed to be clamped by forces directed essentially perpendicular to the radial direction to cancel out each other and not deform the basic body, and/or the workpiece mounting face portion is provided with a predetermined amount of prism.

  • Patent number: 8870628
Abstract: The invention discloses a device (10) for clamping particularly an eye glass lens blocked on a block piece for processing and/or coating said eye glass lens, comprising a receiving space (34) having a center line (M) for a clamping section of the block piece, and a plurality of clamping surfaces (36) provided in a boundary region of the receiving space, which may optionally be engaged in the clamping section of the block piece in order to clamp the block piece. In order to avoid excessive deformation of the clamped block piece, the clamping surfaces are positioned opposite of each other in pairs at a radial distance to the center line and can be displaced optionally toward or away from each other by a clamping piece (38) in order to clamp the clamping section of the block piece by way of clamping forces (F), which are substantially oriented in a tangential direction at a radial distance to the center line, or in order to release the block piece.

  • Patent number: 7597033
Abstract: A machine for machining optical workpieces, in particular plastic spectacle lenses, which has a workpiece spindle, which drives the workpiece in rotation about a workpiece rotation axis (B), and a fast tool arrangement, which moves a turning tool in a fast tool movement plane (X-F1), wherein the workpiece spindle and the fast tool arrangement can moreover be moved relative to one another in a plane (X-Y) which contains the workpiece rotation axis (B). The fast tool movement plane (X-F1) is positioned obliquely (work angle ?) with respect to the plane (X-Y) containing the workpiece rotation axis (B). As a result, a machine is provided in which the working point of the cutting edge of the turning tool can be aligned in a particularly simple and highly precise manner on the rotation axis (B) of the workpiece spindle.

  • Patent number: 7440814
Abstract: A method for auto-calibration of at least one tool (36) in a single point turning machine (10) used for manufacturing in particular ophthalmic lenses (L) is proposed, in which a test piece of special, predetermined geometry is cut with the tool and then probed to obtain probe data. The method subsequently uses the probe data to mathematically and deterministically identify the necessary tool/machine calibration corrections in two directions (X, Y) and three directions (X, Y, Z), respectively, of the machine. Finally these corrections can be applied numerically to all controllable and/or adjustable axes (B, F1, X, Y) of the machine in order to achieve a (global) tool/machine calibration applicable to all work pieces within the machines operating range. As a result two-dimensional (2D) tool/machine calibration and three-dimensional (3D) tool/machine calibration, respectively, can be performed in a reliable and economic manner.

  • Publication number: 20080160133
Abstract: A whey-based cream cheese food product is disclosed that comprises at least about 60% moisture, less than about 20% fat, less than about 20% protein, wherein the protein component is made up of at least 50% whey protein, and about 0.4 to about 15% of a carbohydrate-based texturizing composition, and methods of manufacture thereof, to provide a food product with a creamy and firm texture comparable to a full fat conventional casein-based cream cheese food product. The carbohydrate-based texturizing composition is made up of about 37 to about 96% low dextrose equivalent maltodextrin or oligofructose, about 1 to about 50% of at least one gum, and optionally about 0.1 to about 19% starch blend. The method of manufacture may include either a fermentation process or a one-day acidification process.
