  • Publication number: 20040223597
Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing information to a telecommunications customer who has been placed in the hold state by a telecommunications network providing a call connection to said customer. The information may be in the form of an advertisement in which case the carrier can derive revenue from providing the service. The information can be selected based on the customer profile so that the most appropriate advertisement is transmitted to the customer who is on hold.
    Type: Application
    Filed: May 9, 2003
    Publication date: November 11, 2004
    Inventor: Edward Morton
  • Publication number: 20040223596
Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing advertising information to a caller of a telecommunications call. The advertiser provides data for the advertising message to a database and the message is transmitted prior or during the application of a ringing signal to a called telecommunications station. Advantageously, the telecommunications carrier can receive revenue from the advertising announcements.

  • Publication number: 20040191038
Abstract: A device adapted to operably engage a vehicle to load and unload a container between the vehicle and a surface, and to cooperate with the vehicle to transport the container, is provided. Such a device includes a pair of laterally separated horizontal lifting members configured to be vertically movable with respect to the vehicle and a vertically-movable member operably engaged with the forward ends of the lifting members. A tether is operably engaged between each lifting member and the container so as to secure the container thereto. A translatory device is engaged between the vehicle and the vertically-movable member and configured to support the lifting members as well as move the lifting members longitudinally with respect to the vehicle.
    Type: Application

  • Patent number: 6381328
Abstract: A finite state machine that implements the ETSI Intelligent Network Capability Set 1 for INAP protocol using a first finite state machine connected to a second finite state machine. To accomplish this implementation, the first finite state machine receives inputs and makes initial state transition choices. Once the first finite state machine has made an initial choice, the second finite state machine checks to see if the first finite state machine has transitioned to the appropriate state and, if it has not, give feedback to the finite state machine to the appropriate state. Once the appropriate state is reached, the outputs of the first finite state machine are valid and available. The finite state machines may be realized as physical logical devices or virtually using VFSM technology.

  • Patent number: 6253112
Abstract: A method of and apparatus for constructing a control system and a control system created thereby which is based on multiple finite state machines, each in turn based on a finite state machine with constant code (FSMcc). An input preprocessor module normalizes input signals as required by the finite state machine logical processing unit. An output postprocessor module changes the normalized finite state machine outputs to real signals required by the controlled process or apparatus. The input preprocessor allows for a different finite state machine required for an application to be executed by the same constant code contained in the FSMcc microcode storage. An application logic table for the FSMcc is constructed using a specific organization of data representing application logic conditions. The ability to control a process or apparatus with multiple finite state machines allows the designer to use the FSMcc technology more widely and in more complex situations.
