  • Publication number: 20210130810
Abstract: Disclosed herein include systems, methods, and compositions for determining perturbations in single cells or performing integrated measurements using, for example, plasmids each comprising (i) a perturbation gRNA with a guide region targeting a chromosome sequence and (ii) barcode gRNAs each with a guide region targeting predetermined spatial region of the genome and zero, one, or more optical detection probe binding sites.

  • Patent number: 10144911
Abstract: A system is provided for the quantitative magnetic separation of magnetic objects (e.g., particles or cells). The system uses magnetic ratcheting over arrays of ferromagnetic elements having gradient spacing manifested in various pitch zones that are encountered by the magnetic objects as they traverse the array. The system can be used to separate and concentrate magnetic objects based on iron oxide content. For cells, different phenotypes may be separated based, for example, on surface expression of proteins or molecules that are bound to magnetic particles. The system includes a substrate or chip having the array of ferromagnetic elements with increasing lateral pitch and an externally driven magnet device that generates a cycling magnetic field. Magnetic objects with higher IOC separate and equilibrate along the array at larger pitches. The system can be used for the differential sorting of particles and cells of interest.

  • Patent number: 6394683
Abstract: The present mop is comprised of a head attached to the lower end of a long handle. The head is narrow enough to be moved in a figure “8” pattern. Flexible rayon cords are attached to the head for proper absorbency and texture to avoid streaking. A backpack tank holding a solution is connected by a tube to a sprayer nozzle outside the head for evenly applying the solution on a floor. The tank is pressurized by a pressurizing pump which is operated by a pivoting lever projecting in front of the tank. The lever is positioned at waist level so that it is operable by the worker while the tank is worn. A sprayer control valve is attached along the tube on the handle to control spraying. The valve is offset about 90 degrees relative to the nozzle about the axis of the handle for easy reach.

  • Patent number: 6122793
Abstract: An overshoe is comprised of a plate with a plurality of straps attached to its edges. A cushion is removably attached to a bottom of the plate with hook-and-loop fasteners. The cushion is preferably comprised of loose absorbent fibers attached all across the bottom surface of a fabric substrate. A soft boot preferably made of a thick absorbent fabric is arranged for wrapping around the plate and the cushion. A conventional shoe is preferably worn on the foot prior to wearing the overshoe. To use, the cushion is attached to the bottom of the plate, which is strapped onto the shoe. The cushion is preferably much wider than the shoe, so that it projects substantially beyond the sides of the shoe. The boot is worn over the shoe, the plate, and the cushion. A small amount of cleaning fluid is applied to a floor, which is cleaned by moving the overshoe across it with a skating motion. Heavy pressure is automatically exerted on the overshoe by the user's weight for effective cleaning.
