  • Patent number: 5485823
Abstract: A fluid connection between a pair of passages (12,15) which open onto surfaces (13,16) in respective body parts which are secured together. About one of the passages a sealing zone (21) is established in a respective surface and the zone is surrounded by a depression (20) which communicates with a drain passage.

  • Patent number: 5427073
Abstract: A unit injector for supplying fuel to an internal combustion engine has a bore (21) in which is mounted a pair of plungers (22) extending from the opposite ends of the bore. The plungers are actuated by cams (26) which are mounted on a pair of cam shafts of the engine.

  • Patent number: 5195912
Abstract: An electrical connector for forming an electrical connection to a pair of electrical terminals comprises first and second electrical connection members each having an eyelet formed with an arcuate, terminal-receiving slot. The connection members are held in fixed relative positions by either mounting them on, or moulding them into, an electrically insulating disc, or by clamping them by means of a clamping bar. In the connected condition of the connector the arcuate, terminal-receiving slots formed in the eyelets span at least opposite quadrants of a circle passing through the electrical terminals.

  • Patent number: 4680857
Abstract: A winding method for winding the parallel connected coils of the stator structure of an electromagnetic device, the individual coils being connected in parallel to a pair of supply terminals. On completion of one coil the wire is led into the adjacent groove to be occupied by the next coil to be wound and one turn is wound in the groove before the wire is led to a supply terminal.

  • Patent number: 4590910
Abstract: A liquid fuel injection pumping apparatus for supplying fuel to an internal combustion engine includes, a high pressure injection pump, an electrically operated spill valve which when open during a delivery stroke of the injection pump allows fuel to flow to a drain. The apparatus includes a control valve operable to control fuel flow through passage means to the injection pump, the control valve having three positions in the first of which there is unrestricted flow of fuel, in the second of which there is restricted fuel flow and in the third of which fuel flow is prevented. An angularly movable shaft is provided to close the spill valve and the control valve is connected to a shaft. The shafts exterior of the apparatus are connected to mechanisms whereby when the control valve is moved from the first position to the second position the spill valve will be closed thereby to allow the apparatus to supply fuel at a restricted rate.

  • Patent number: 4505245
Abstract: A fuel pumping apparatus for supplying fuel to a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine includes a high pressure pump which supplies fuel in timed relationship with the engine. The fuel is distributed to fuel outlets in turn by means of an axially movable distributor member which has a groove connected to the high pressure pump and which can register with ports connected to the fuel outlets respectively. The distributor member is actuated by a lever means mounting rollers which engage cam profiles on a cup-shaped cam. The cam profiles are arranged such that the groove dwells at each port during the time fuel flows through the groove and port.

  • Patent number: 4207775
Abstract: A fuel pumping apparatus includes a housing in which is located a plurality of reciprocable tappet assemblies including tappet bodies. The tappets carry rollers for engagement with cams respectively. In order to prevent rotation of the tappet bodies adjacent pairs of the tappet bodies are provided with mutually facing and mutually inclined flats which are engaged by wedge-shaped guide members. The flats and guide members permit reciprocable movement of the tappet bodies but prevent rotation thereof.
