  • Patent number: 6194982
Abstract: A circuit interrupter including a housing, separable main contacts disposed in the housing, and an operating mechanism disposed in the housing and interconnected with the contacts. A trip mechanism is disposed in the housing and has an automatic trip assembly that selectively generates a tripping operation to cause the operating mechanism to open the contacts upon a predetermined current threshold. The automatic trip assembly includes a magnetic yoke, an armature, and an electrical terminal. The magnetic yoke has pivot supports on which are positioned pivot arms of a head portion of the armature. A clamp member applies a clamping force to the head portion of the armature in a direction to normally rotationally displace a bottom portion of the armature away from the yoke and the terminal.

  • Patent number: 4732600
Abstract: An apparatus is described for filling notches in a notched workpiece with a soft filler material having a viscosity similar to glasses. The apparatus has a bottom portion which receives the notched workpiece and a top portion. The top portion has a lower surface adapted to apply a concentrated pressure in the direction of the bottom portion to enhance flow of the soft filler material into the notches when that material is inserted between the assembled top and bottom portions.

  • Patent number: 4611259
Abstract: A transducer and method are described where track width reducing notches are filled with a nonmagnetic material which is heated to or slightly over its softening temperature but below its melting temperature. Concentrated high pressure at discrete locations is applied to the softened nonmagnetic material to enhance flow thereof into the notches.

  • Patent number: 4293884
Abstract: A multiple leg magnetic transducer has two corresponding core portions abutting at a transducing gap plane. Each portion has a transducing gap defining pole and a multiple leg back core contiguous with the pole. A nonmagnetic side piece supports the pole and intermediate leg portions while a rear leg portion most distant from the pole is unsupported by the side piece. The thusly supported portions are pressed together in a direction towards the transducing gap plane while the rear leg portions flex in the opposite direction to obtain an intimate contact between all corresponding end faces of the abutting core portions. In the preferred embodiment the flexed leg portions are firmly supported by a bonding material.
