  • Patent number: 11891762
Abstract: Systems and methods can sense, using a vibration sensor disposed relative to a rotor of a milling machine, vibration associated with a cutting operation of the rotor of the milling machine; and determine during the cutting operation whether the sensed vibration associated with the cutting operation of the rotor indicates now that the rotor is cutting a second material different from a first material being previously cut by the rotor during the cutting operation. The second material can be harder than the first material. Cutting operations of the milling machine can be controlled based on identification of the rotor cutting the second material. The cutting operations can include speed of the milling machine, cutting level and/or depth of the rotor, and/or rotational speed of the rotor.

  • Publication number: 20100155314
Abstract: A method to continuously inoculate (grow) microbial cultures on-site whereby a live culture of grease reducing microbes can be periodically injected directly into grease interceptors, grease traps and grease vaults. The system consists of a two tank system, one a isolated microbial storage tank (1) and two a inoculation tank (2). Microbial concentrate is periodically injected into the inoculation tank (2), filtered water is added and aerated (10) allowing the microbes to wake up into a vegetative state. Inoculation time is set for optimal growth and nutrition absorption time. The finished inoculated and vegetative microbial cultures are then injected into grease interceptors, grease traps and grease vaults containing a FOG (Fats, Oils and Grease). This process is continuously repeated to ensure viable microbial cultures for the bioremediation of FOG.

  • Patent number: 7615156
Abstract: A bioremediation device for liquid waste includes a medium for forming a microbial film and for exposing the microbial film to an effluent to decompose a first substance in the effluent and to produce a second substance from the decomposition of first substance. An aerator is coupled to the medium to supply the microbial film with oxygen and to accelerate the effluent around the microbial film.

  • Publication number: 20030066338
Abstract: A prosthetic heart valve testing apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a test chamber, a slide plate slidingly and sealingly coupled to the test chamber, the slide plate having an opening formed therein that is adapted to receive a prosthetic heart valve to be tested in the test chamber, a storage member containing a plurality of prosthetic heart valves to be tested in the test chamber, and a load/unload means for transferring at least one of the heart valves in the storage member between the storage member and the slide plate. A method disclosed herein comprises positioning the storage member in a first position, moving a first heart valve from the storage member in the first position to the test chamber, performing at least one test on the first heart valve in the test chamber, and returning the first heart valve from the test chamber to the storage member.

  • Patent number: 5243505
Abstract: A rotatable drop light assembly comprises three alternate embodiments which may be retro-fitted to different types of conventional drop light apparatus for selectively directing the light about a full 360.degree. radius while suspended from an anchor point. A first embodiment comprises a circular plate rotatably mounted to and spring biased toward the top wall of the light reflector/shield, with both including annularly spaced, raised protrusions which go into and out of aligned engagement upon rotating the housing with respect to the anchoring hook. In a second embodiment, a flanged bushing lockingly engages a non-circular aperture in a rotatable plate with the anchoring hook fixed to the bushing. In a third embodiment, a first plate is rotatably mounted to a second plate which is attached to and extends from the top edge of the light shield/reflector.
