  • Patent number: 7306659
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for filtering contaminants, such as particulates and vapor phase contaminants, from a confined environment such as electronic or optical devices susceptible to contamination (e.g. computer disk drives) by improving performance and possibly incorporating multiple filtration functions into a unitary filter. The filter includes flow layers which improve filter performance. Filtration functions include a passive adsorbent assembly and can include a combination of inlet, or breather filter and adsorbent filter. Moreover, recirculation filter, diffusion tube and outside mount functions can be added to the filter depending on desired functionality within the enclosure.

  • Patent number: 7245685
Abstract: A timing distribution apparatus. The apparatus includes a source for producing a signal. The apparatus includes a first filter for removing jitter from the signal. The apparatus includes a second filter for removing wander from the signal separate and apart from the first filter. A method for producing a timing distribution signal. The method includes the steps of removing jitter from a signal with a first filter. Then there is the step of removing wander from the signal with a second filter separate and apart from the first filter.

  • Patent number: 6542376
Abstract: Disclosed is an electronics packaging system, which provides for a high density assembly of groups of similar solid state part packages. The system provides a novel method for interconnecting the signal paths, structurally assembling and supporting the parts, and removing heat generated within the components. The system approach disclosed typically starts at the level of assembling pre-packaged parts into modules, and permeates through to the printed circuit board and box levels of assembly. The system is applicable, but not limited to, solid state memory device packaging, which typically consists of many similar parts interconnected in a matrix bus type configuration. The assembly of a building block of numerous memory components allows for the modular construction of large amounts of solid state memory.

  • Patent number: 4103207
Abstract: An improved coupled cavity type traveling wave vacuum tube of the type containing serially spaced electromagnetically coupled cavities defined in spaces between serially spaced magnetic pole pieces, each of which contains magnetic ferrule portions projecting from the pole piece walls and bordering an electron beam passage through the pole piece, an electrically conductive nonmagnetic material of high thermal conductivity lines the inner walls of the ferrule, and in which a void formed in between the front and back side walls defining each pole piece is filled with a nonmagnetic material of a high thermal conductivity characteristic positioned in a thermal conducting relationship with said lining portion whereby the ability of the tube to dissipate heat generated therewithin during operation is enhanced and the tube may thereby be operated at higher duty cycles.

  • Patent number: 4038527
Abstract: A self-contained, strapped down guidance system combining all axes, all attitude navigation having two wide angle, two-degree-of-freedom gyros which provide attitude angle and angular rate signals along three axes. Accelerometer means provide signals representative of the acceleration along three orthogonally displaced independent axes. A first transformation matrix connected to the attitude angle output of the gyros and to the accelerometers transforms the gyro and accelerometer signals from body coordinates to gyro coordinates. A second transformation matrix connected to the output of the gyros, transforms the gyro coordinates into navigation coordinates. In order to perform navigational computations, computing means compute a transformation from gyro momentum vector (referenced to coordinate frame) to a navigational coordinate frame such as a locally vertical frame wherein the Z axis is always along the local vertical direction.
