  • Patent number: 10467392
Abstract: A target hash phrase can be provided to a user on a computer that indicates a target state of the computer. The computer generates a local hash phrase that represents a current state of the computer. The local hash phrase can be used to verify that the computer is at the target state by comparing the local hash phrase with the target hash phrase. The computer may receive corrective input from the user to correct the state of the computer depending on the comparison. The local hash phrase can be generated by computing one or more hash values from data that represent a state of the computer. The one or more hash values correspond to one or more hash words that comprise the hash phrase. Individual letters of each hash word can be selected using segments of a corresponding hash value.

  • Patent number: 5160176
Abstract: In accordance with this invention, an adjustable coupling device for releasably interconnecting confronting ends of first and second fluid carrying conduits is provided. A bell flange is attached to the confronting end of one of the conduits. This bell flange has an arcuate internal sealing surface adjacent the lip thereof and a recess extending inwardly longitudinally from the arcuate sealing surface. A sealing flange is attached to the confronting end of the other of the conduits and is sized to be received within the bell flange. It also includes a peripheral abutment spaced from the outer end thereof. A sleeve is mounted on the end of the sealing flange and has a curved outer surface and an inner surface engageable with the abutment to limit the inward movement thereof. A sealing ring is mounted on the sealing flange adjacent the sleeve and is engageable with the arcuate sealing surface of the bell flange when the flanges are drawn together.

  • Patent number: 4928202
Abstract: A bonding jumper is mounted on one facing surface of first and second coupling means which are threadably interconnected. The bonding jumper has a plurality of resilient detent members for bearing against the facing surface of the other coupling means to establish a redundant electrical bond between the first and second coupling means when the facing surfaces are axially drawn toward each other. A plurality of recesses is provided in the second surface for coating with the detent means to yieldably resist opposing relative rotation in the unthreading direction.

  • Patent number: 4625999
Abstract: A remotely-operable connector comprising a pair of female end fittings, each adapted to be permanently fixed one to each of a pair of pipes to be coupled together, and a jumper assembly having a jumper pipe terminating at opposite ends in male end fittings which are received one in each of the female end fittings. Each mating pair of male and female fittings is received in a pivot housing which is mounted for universal articulation on the female fitting for enabling the housing to be angularly aligned with the end of the male fitting which is received in the female fitting.

  • Patent number: 4522433
Abstract: Flexible fluid couplings incorporating spherical seats which permit the interconnected pipe section to move axially and/or articulate relative to each other. O-ring seals in the coupling are protected against pressure induced extrusion. The center of articulation is located in a plane which passes close to the O-ring seals.

  • Patent number: 4487462
Abstract: A threaded coupling assembly is provided for joining a pair of confronting conduit members and minimizing electrostatic charge buildup between the conduit members. Each conduit member has an annular flange fixed to the confronting ends thereof. A threaded coupling interconnects the two flanges and includes, in one embodiment, a coupler having an internal annular groove for releasably holding a first annular bonding jumper and an externally threaded outer end. A nut is threaded onto the coupler and has an internal annular bonding jumper retaining groove for a second annular bonding jumper. These bonding jumpers include an annular ring having a plurality of bonding jumper contact flanges at the inner edge which engage the surface of the flanges and made electrical contact therewith and have at least a plurality of spaced retaining tangs at the outer edge which snap into the retaining grooves in the coupler and the nut.

  • Patent number: 4346428
Abstract: A coupling assembly is provided including a pair of confronting conduit members. Each conduit member has an annular flange fixed to the confronting ends of the conduit members. A circumferentially extending coupler surrounds portions of the flanges. A resilient bonding jumper transversing the circumferential wall of the coupler provides electrical continuity between the conduit members. The bonding jumper includes a body portion and a pair of arms fixed to opposite ends of the body portion. The arms extend in opposite directions. When the coupler is secured to the flanges, each arm contacts one of the flanges and a torque is produced tending to force the other arm into secure electrical contact with its contacted flange.
