  • Patent number: 8801407
Abstract: A hydraulic power device for effecting operation of at least one load, the hydraulic power device including a motor having a predetermined motor speed rating and motor power rating, at least one pump operably coupled to the motor, the pump being configured to provide, to the at least one load, a predetermined hydraulic fluid flow at the predetermined motor speed rating, and a variable frequency drive connected to the motor, the variable frequency drive being configured to effect operation of the motor at a speed above the predetermined motor speed rating such that the at least one pump operates to provide an excess hydraulic fluid flow during operation of the motor substantially above the predetermined motor speed rating where the excess fluid flow is greater than the predetermined hydraulic fluid flow.

  • Patent number: 6837158
Abstract: A frame (12) with a charging chamber (14) for receiving a load of waste material, a platen (20) that moves in the charging chamber to compact the material load, and one or more wheels (44) rotatably coupled to the platen. The charging chamber (14) has a floor (34), the platen (20) has a bottom (32) that slidably contacts the floor and supports enough of the weight of the platen on the floor that none or little of the material can pass under the platen, and the wheels (44) support a substantial portion of the weight of the platen on the floor to mitigate sliding friction. The wheels (44) are made of a resilient material and deform from an unloaded state to a loaded state when supporting the substantial portion of the weight of the platen (20).

  • Patent number: 5150605
Abstract: There is disclosed a method for determining the proper sealing of a hermetically sealed package. The method consists of the steps of providing a pressure source for effecting a movement of air mass, providing an enclosable vacuum chamber suitable for accommodating a hermetically sealed package therein being enclosable in sealing tight engagement. An air flow path is provided from the vacuum chamber to the pressure source, the air flow path having a valve interposed to isolate the vacuum chamber from the pressure source. The air flow path is provided with a mass flow transducer and a pressure differential measuring device. A hermetically sealed package is placed in the vacuum chamber and by activating the isolating valve to connect the vacuum chamber to the source of pressure, a flow of gas is effected through the air flow path activating the pressure differential measuring device to determine the rate of mass flow of gas through the mass flow transducer as a function of time.

  • Patent number: 4691628
Abstract: A method for operating a dewatering press wherein a mass for wet fibrous material is dewatered on all six sides by compressing the mass with a second ram against a plurality of liners arranged on a front face of the second ram, on a rear face of a door, and on a top wall, a bottom wall, and two opposing side walls of a press box. Before entering the press box, a quantity of the mass of wet fibrous material is selected by a first ram which is guided a predetermined distance beneath a hopper of wet fibrous material by a pair of piston rods and cylinders arranged on opposite external sides of the first ram. On one side edge of the front face of the second ram and also on one side wall of the press box, there are positioned four-edged knives which cut off a selected quantity of wet fibrous material after such material is fed into the compression chamber but before such material is pushed into the press box by the second ram.
