Abstract: A load carrier rack for a vehicle including a base member mountable on a portion of the vehicle is disclosed. The load carrier rack can also include an upright leg extending from the base member, the upright leg being slidably received by the base member. The load carrier rack can also include an interference mechanism including interference surface, the interference mechanism configured to have at least an actuated configuration and a released configuration. In the actuated configuration, the interference surface is engaged with the upright leg to resist movement of the upright leg relative the base; and in the release configuration, the interference surface is disengaged from the upright leg to permit movement of the upright leg relative the base.
