  • Patent number: 5448873
Abstract: An agricultural baler for making cylindrical bales of crop material having a sledge assembly moveable between bale starting and full bale positions. The sledge assembly includes a plurality of rollers which cooperate with an array of belts to define a bale forming chamber. A dispensing mechanism is provided for dispensing web material, such as net or the like, into the bale forming chamber whereupon it is wrapped circumferentially around a cylindrical package of crop material in the bale forming chamber. Included along the path of the net prior to being fed into the chamber is a severing assembly for cutting the net after it has been wrapped around the cylindrical hay package formed in the chamber. The net severing assembly includes a unique severing element that provides improved net cutting.

  • Patent number: 5259167
Abstract: An agricultural baler for making cylindrical bales of crop material having a sledge assembly moveable between bale starting and full bale positions. The sledge assembly includes a plurality of rollers which cooperate with an apron to define a bale forming chamber. A dispensing mechanism is carried on the sledge assembly for dispensing web material into the bale forming chamber whereupon it is wrapped circumferentially around a cylindrical package of crop material. A net supply assembly is associated with the dispensing mechanism to provide net for feeding into the bale chamber via the dispensing mechanism. Included along the feed path of the net is a net severing assembly for cutting the net after it has been wrapped around the cylindrical hay package. The net severing assembly includes a free falling cutting element for operatively engaging the net prior to entry into the chamber.

  • Patent number: 5014613
Abstract: A roll baling machine includes a main frame, a tailgate pivotally connected to the main frame, and an apron extending around a plurality of guide rolls disposed in the main frame and in the tailgate. A pair of take up arms are rotatably mounted in the tailgate and carry an additional guide roll for the apron. A pair of levers are connected to rotate with the take up arms, and springs are connected to the levers to urge the take up arms into a bale starting position. The machine is provided with a twine wrapper, and a mechanism for automatically tripping the twine wrapper into operation comprises a cam surface on one of the levers engageable with a cam roller carried on a first link. This first link is rotatably mounted on the main frame and is connected to a sliding member which is movable toward and away from a tripping position. The tripping mechanism also includes second, third and fourth links connecting the first link to the sliding member.

  • Patent number: 4875890
Abstract: An axial flow combine harvester feed plate assembly for directing crop material from an elevator into a longitudinally extending threshing and separating rotor is disclosed wherein the feed plate assembly includes a surface extending upwardly and rearwardly to a junction with an arcuate surface to direct the mat of crop material being conveyed by the elevator in a linear path into a spirally extending flow path around the threshing and separating rotor. For axial flow harvesters having a pair of threshing and separating rotors, the feed plate includes a central divider member and a pair of transversely spaced side members providing an infeed configuration that eliminates dead spots in the transition of the flow of crop material from the elevator to the threshing and separating rotors to provide a smooth and efficient harvesting operation.

  • Patent number: 4140047
Abstract: Mobile vehicles and the like having enclosed cabs such as tractors, combines and the like, are provided with air inlet means for the comfort of the operator. The air inlet means are provided with a readily removable filter element and means to support the same by an overhanging forward portion of the roof which extends beyond the windshield of the cab. The filter element is supported by a frame and includes means to raise and lower the frame respectively to support the filter element in upper, operative position and lower, removable position, insertion and removal of the same occurring through an opening adjacent one side edge of the roof of the cab and normally closed by a door, the entire removal occurring exteriorly of the interior of the cab.

  • Patent number: 4124032
Abstract: An axial flow type combine having a rotor provided with rasp bars operable relative to a concave to form a threshing region and provided at the inlet end of the threshing region with support means for the rotor adjustable to vary the distance between the rotor and concave. In the preferred construction of said support means, the forward end of the shaft of the rotor is mounted for movement toward and away from the inner surface of the concave.
